My pupils dilated of happiness to the sight of these new images taken from Gran Turismo 5: Prologue. There are more than 150 of them for all tastes. The Playstation 3 racing simulator will be available at the end of the year on a Blu-Ray disc or as a download in the Playstation Store (no price confirmed).

What worries me more is they're charging ~$40 for Prologue, and it's not even close to the full game that GT5 is supposed to be (which is coming later).
Are they gonna charge $300 for GT5 or something ridiculous? Remember all that talk of charging $8 for individual car downloads?
Wasn't there a GT HD? which was GT 4 in HD for the ps3?
Is there a difference between GT5 prologue and GT5? is GT5 prologue like GT concept? just a bigger demo of GT5?? (GT5 will have more cars than 150 and more maps..)
Does GT5 has features GT5 prologue won't have?
game does look great, i think the incar view just changes the whole gaming experience.. really makes it ultra realistic.

Next they announced this, the next stopgap before the 'real' GT5 (at least so far). This one has a few more courses (forget how many) and something like 60 cars (could be far off on that too), I've heard anything from 'free' to '4500 yen' recently, so who knows.
Finally, the full GT5 is supposed to have more cars, at this detail level, then any of the other GT series games, but that's still a ways off...
Seems like they are trying to milk the hell out of their consumers.
... you know nothing my boy.

... GT5 prologue 13.12.007 /as BR disk or PSN download .. japan/
Since then Forza 1 and 2 had amazing physics and quite a few pc racers have come out as well..all of which blow anything from GT away in the physics and AI dept. Im all for pretty but when im playing a sim racer i need more and Forza 2 has spoiled me with its decals and upgrades.
I wont buy a PS3 until GT5 is out in full and even then thats only if they improve on the areas mentioned.
... PGR4 .. 720p/30fps/8 cars versus 1080p/60fps/16 cars plus damage modeling and dynamic weather.

When asked about the new built-from-the-ground-up AI code and the option for car damage, Yamauchi indicated that CPU controlled drivers are aware of the new penalties for playing "bumper cars." With up to sixteen cars on the track, they need to be aware of each and the danger of spinning out when one comes in contact with another.

First off, GT5 P doesn't have any realtime weather at all, yet. It's no simple task to do effects like the water in PGR4. I don't think either game has damage modeling, based on what I've seen. PGR4 has in-gameplay motion blur, something I've only seen in replay mode in GT5. The cities in PGR4 also look way more detailed.
Not putting down either game, but they specialize in different effects...

:: did you see LONDON track in GT5P .. its WAY MORE detailed .. muhehe and dont forget .. 1080p .. 60fps ... 16 cars .. needs 5-8 times more raw power than can xbox offer.

I haven't even seen the London track in GT5P, got any shots?
You need to redefine 'raw power', what kind of power? Lighting? Geometry transformation? Shaders? 'power' can be classified in a lot of different ways. If the polygon counts were lower in GT5, then the power wouldn't be relevant, for example.
:: he he .. same with REAR view mirror .. isnt it.

:: try to make PGR4 "ELITE" with 16 cars,60fps,1080p .. IMPOSSIBLE on XBOX !!

As for the rear view mirror, I honestly hadn't seen any shots of it working until now.
GT has no video of the 'London' track that I can see. AFAIK the only 'London' feature of the game is a simple background in the photo mode, not a full track.
You need to learn more about graphics technology. While more cars is certainly a strain on a system, it is certainly not a directly scaling effect. 16 cars is NOT twice as hard to realize in a game as 8. Features like LOD and the fact that shaders don't need to scale in the same way makes it so.
Also, resolution isn't a direct equivalent of power, even when comparing two identical games, which these two certainly are not. If you have shader effects in one game that are more complicated than the shader effects in another, it may require 4 times the power and require you to drop the framerate or resolution to be acceptable.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to both games, I'm sorry that many won't be able to experience both, but they're both interesting and incredible looking to me.
