PS3

Sony and Sucker Punch, the creators of Sly Racoon, release three new images of InFamous, their free-roaming action game filled with super-powers, dark textures and scary lightnings. We can expect a kind of gloomy Crackdown, and it's planned to hit the streets somewhere in 2008.
Update: 720p versions added.

Sly Racoon. <3

The graphics look amazing, but you just can't help but feel that they've been tampered with.

This looks really good, from both a technical standpoint and their intentions with gameplay.

No wow factor here, after the debut of Prototype footage.
The textures do seem sharp and very detailed.
But to trust images that may or may not be bullshots (The AA), I will wait to see the Game in motion... it has potential to convey the crackdown lovers niche, and besides that, the Devs behind it made solid titles in the past(Sly Cooper Franchise).

that's right, sly cooper was a great game. the AA is a bit much, but really, which game doesn't do it.

*sigh* We have Prototype, we have Crackdown, we have GTA. I just can't find it in myself to get excited about this when I know they could have been making a PS3 Sly Cooper, a series that still feels like no other game to me.

So you've been regretting changing console and a game that wont be released till next year now makes you feel better for the swap? You've got a long six months ahead of you.

Game looks nice.. if pretty empty

looks nice. cool art style. very comic bookish. but either they've cranked the AA up to an unrealistic level. or the screens have been resized from a HUGE resolution. and after seeing some huge images recently of this game...my guess is the latter.

After being disspointed with Haze and hearing that Too Human is pretty bad from previews, I have to say, the developers I liked the most last gen I'm starting not to trust anymore. I'm hoping this game has good gameplay and story. It should from what I've read.

The problem this generation, is that gamers critical thinking seem to be completely blinded by the console war. I mean how hard was it to predict that Haze would be average? Or how about Dark Sector, Timeshift, Turning Point and Blacksite? You can see it miles away if you try. Too Human is going to be average. So is Infamous, Legendary, Prototype, Resistance 2. The fanboys hype up average games, giving them way more exposure than they deserve. Heck, over at Gametrailers, they're even bickering about a frigging Naruto game.

But anyway its impossible to debate most of these people, so I generally don't even bother anymore.

Can I just say that I hate Sony for having its awesome console too pricey for me and be jealous of all the people who get to play?

Looks awesome though. Very crisp and smooth (although I'm sure that'll change. Still, won't be a big deal in motion). Been a while since I've seen tis game around.

I already understand that, but what I don't understand is why some of those mediocre or average games this generation are coming from good developers. I can see developers' ambitions with 4 of the games you've posted that are (according to you)"going to be average". I think the problem with Too Human is that not only did they have internal problems, but the fact that they may have been too ambitious(at least in terms of keeping framerate at a steady 30 or 60). But then again, I'm giving them excuses, because if they knew about these problems, they would have postponed the release and either changed platforms(PC maybe?) or take it down a notch for a steady framerate.

Also, I suggest just not getting yourself involved with the GT userbase, their commenting style is almost as low as youtube commenters.

You know, I really resent crap like this - what's worse is that it's the very first post to, so it sets a trend for the rest of the damned thread. And sure enough, over half the posts in this thread are fit for toilet water. Look man, I understand how it is when you see something you think you will like, and you don't want to watch others come out and trash it for no reason - I feel you there. But that does not mean you gotta come out and get the ball rolling yourself.

For the record, I am a happy owner of an Xbox 360 (of course I also own the PS3 and the Wii), and I have been looking forward to this game for quite some time. Sucker Punch has been one of the better devs out there, and it is so nice to see them do something other than Sly Cooper.

I caught the 10-page preview of this game in the latest Game Informer, and it looks hot. Anyone currently dogging on this game, should pick up the latest GI and give it a read, inFAMOUS is shaping up to be a stunning game - and that is just not fanboy fodder trying to hype up a game that does not deserve it - its the opinion of a gamer who has actually bothered to learn a little about an unreleased title, and got excited about what he saw.

I remember the good old days, when every new game was a reason to get excited about - no matter the genre or the console. Now everyone is so cynical. It's either you can only like console X or graphic card Y. Or the worst crime these days is how we are all supposed to unanimously agree about which unreleased games are going to be good and which are not, as if a person could really tell before actually putting their hand on a controller and playing the game.

Sheesh! As an audience, we have become a rather pretentious lot.

Come on, peeps. Lets all grow up a little here. I'm looking at the screens, I've read up on the game, and from where I am sitting, it looks good - so far. Maybe it won't turn out to be good when it ships, maybe it will. But either way, does that really give anyone the right to harsh on anyone else's mellow?

inFAMOUS is not due out until sometime next spring (most likely next summer), which is plenty of time to do good things with what is there. And based on what I have read so far, if Sucker Punch can manage to make their vision for this game come to fruition, we are potentially looking at one of the best titles for 2009.

I think prototype will be better then this. Graphics wise it don't look all that good the only thing that do look good is the character model. But that's just my opinion before any one feel the need to respond to my opinion.
