Sega fact sheet:
Comix Zone
Year Released: 1995
With his blond ponytail and tiny sunglasses, comic book artist Sketch Turner is as hip as they come. But all the hipness in the world won't help him when his own creations turn against him. Mortus, the main villain in Sketch's comic book comes to life after a bizarre thunderstorm. Unable to harm Sketch in the real world, Mortus blasts the artist into his own comic book, where he must fight off Mortus' army of mutant warriors. When he lands in his post-apocalyptic comic world, Sketch befriends Alissa Cyan, who leads a resistance against the mutants and gives Sketch mission briefings as he fights. Since the action takes place in a comic book, the characters' banter appears in word bubbles, and Sketch hops across comic panels to enter the next area.

- Comix Zone's score was composed by Howard Drossin. Drossin had previously written the music to Sonic The Hedgehog™ 3 and Sonic & Knuckles™.
Golden Axe
Year Released: 1989
The evil Death Adder has invaded your land, and he's taken the king and princess prisoner. Three mighty warriors step forward to bring the villain to justice. The powerful fighter, Ax Battler, the female amazon, Tyris Flare, and the mighty dwarf, Gilius Thunderhead, will use their weapons and magic to fight their way through Death Adder's hordes. Along the way, they'll mount fearsome, fire-spitting beasts to help even the odds. For a different challenge, see how far you can get in Duel mode, where you face off against Death Adder's forces in twelve different rounds or take on Death Adder Jr. in Beginner mode.

- The SEGA Mega Drive™ version of Golden Axe™ has more levels than the arcade version.
- The warrior hero of Golden Axe™ starred in his own SEGA Game Gear® game called Ax Battler: A Legend of Golden Axe.
Golden Axe II
Year Released: 1991
Years have passed since the defeat of the wicked Death Adder. The peace won't last forever, however, as a new threat has appeared. In ancient times, Dark Guld, The Lord of Darkness, and his forces destroyed entire countries and brought the world into chaos. He was finally imprisoned, but after all this time he has finally found a way to escape. It is now up to the three brave warriors who defeated Death Adder to return to battle and send Dark Guld back where he came from. The spritely Elves and their magical potions may be missing in this sequel, but all the action of the original has returned.
Did You Know?
- Golden Axe™ II was a SEGA Mega Drive™ exclusive title. It didn't originate as an arcade game.
- The Duel mode from the original is back in Golden Axe™ II. In 1994, SEGA® expanded on the concept when it produced Golden Axe™: The Duel, a one-on-one fighting game for the SEGA Saturn™.
Golden Axe III
Year Released: 1993
Chaos is spreading across the land once again as the Prince of Darkness arises to conquer the world. To stop him and retrieve the legendary Golden Axe, four heroes step forward to accept the challenge. Gilius Thunderhead, the dwarf fighter from the previous Golden Axe adventures, sits this quest out and acts as an advisor to the new team. Joining past warriors, Ax Battler and Tyris Flare, are a man-panther, who has mastered the magic of fog, and a hulking barbarian with the power to manipulate stone. Multiple branching paths allow you to take this journey several times and experience new battles.
Did You Know?
- In 1992, SEGA® produced an arcade game called Golden Axe™: The Revenge of Death Adder. It is an entirely different game from Golden Axe™ III.

edit: Good to hear it can be turned off..
PS. I havent played the PS2 version, but whatever.
shinning force > all, including shinning force 2...
Either that or SEGA should actually do a Capcom style HD remake of the better ones, starting with the original Sonic.
as for these types of collections, is there really any need? I mean...just release them separately on XBLA so people can pick their favorites instead.
Ecco II: The Tides of Time

Damn... if they release Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles on XBLA seperately, then i'm not buying this.
