Xbox 360

Atari recently announced that they'll be releasing six Xbox Live Arcade games, six Atari classics, next year starting January. Here are the first images of Missile Command, from both the Classic and Evolved modes. The images were released in 1080p resolution, so could this possibly be the one of the first 1080p games on Xbox 360?

How dare ye, Missile Command is awesome. And in 1080p? WOW!

It should be much easier to make arcade games render in 1080p with any loss of performance since they're less complex to begin with.

We have no confirmation at all though. I don't know if I've ever seen Microsoft release 1920x1080 images, either they're 1280x720 or in like 5120xsomething (same with Atari). This is a new for me at least.

AT least it's a classic game with fresh design. I hate this old-school pixelated arcade games. I want new games like MS oder GW.

i've had fun playing the game without a rollerball. i mean rollerball is definiately ideal, but there is still fun to be had without one.

I'm inclined to agree. It's a shame we got a button in the middle of the 360's controller instead of a rollerboll :(

Sometimes I really like how simple games look when they are redone in a new way. This looks cool.

I love Missile Command, it's an absolute classic. I just can't see how you can play it properly without a trackball though.

This is a SERIOUS issue with the Atari releases for XBLA. Warlords is hands down my favorite Atari game--but I'm not sure how it will play without paddles. Hopefully it translates well. Centipede as well, would work much better with a trackball.
