PS3

Sega releases no less than thirty-six awesome screenshots of Yakuza 3 (Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan!), the PS3's very own historical Shenmue-like. The good surprise here is that the images are in 720p where every other japanese game only proposes tiny-ass screenshots. Hurray !

There is a Yakuza racing game for the 360 but this is a completely different franchise for the PS3, there were two Yakuza games for the PS2, only the first one came to America.

looking at this I can't help but think what Shenmue III would look like on today's consoles.

The graphics on previous screens were much better, but the concept looks interesting. And yeah, Shenmue III for Xbox 360 would be fantastic!

The first one is already out and the second one is coming out in NA next year.

Can't wait as I'm really interested in playing during the era in the game.

What the hell i was hoping for this to be a serious samurai game, as much as i like hot girl in bikinis and can't say that they belong in a game set during the samurai era.

Yeah, already noticed that *lol* But it didn't come to it's release date in Japan and elsewhere ^^
But now, as we see the 3rd title, I really doubt if much people will buy the 2nd... It's way too late for it.
Hm... by thinking back how cool the first was... Well, I guess I'm gonna buy it however *lol*

Well nobody bought the first so I don't think we need to worry about 2 selling at all. I know I'm gonna get it though. I thought the first one was absolutely ace, and Kiryu Kazuma one of the coolest characters to come along since Solid Snake made his "Solid" return in 98.

I'm thrilled that they're essentially using him again for this, and I hope that becomes a trend with this franchise to keep it fresh. I mean they can put it in any time period as long as Kiryu has his base personality treats.

Absolutely agree with that! But after the 20th sequel it could happen to get a little bit boring *lol* (just joking ^^) When this title keeps the coolness of the first one, everyting is okay!! Hm, I don't know how many copies have been sold, but was it really thus low??!!! Sad...

@ Hrimthur )

in Japan both titles sold quite well (first one ~750k copies , 2nd one ~ 560k) , but outside of Japan it wasn't well received

Yeah exactly, I should prolly have been more clear. In japan it's one of Sega's biggest games in years, both commercially and critically. Here it was written off with lukewarm 7s and 6s out of 10 and sold sod all.

I guess the Final Fantasy with random Spikeout battles approach didn't really go down as well over here.

Reminds me of the case GodHand. Just got 7/10, or even less... But appearently it was a really cool game. Wanted to buy it, but here it was unpossible to find it... and afterwards I forgot about it. Anyone played it here? personal meanings? (sorry for the off topic)
