PC Xbox 360

Funcom releases some new images of its MMO game Age Of Conan - probably taken from the PC version. The game will be released this year on PC and Xbox 360.

360 version is supposedly coming a bit later after the PC version.

I don't know what chance they have against WoW on PC though...

Been looking forward to this one for QUITE a while. I absolutely love Conan, and this game seems to be pretty faithful to Howard's vision of Hyboria, or at least the parts depicted in the game. I can't wait to traverse the citadel of the black circle or walk the streets of Tarrantia! This is clearly one of my most highly anticipated games of 08. I can't even begin to describe my anticipation, how my mouth froths at the shear thought of the game :D

I'll be giving this a go on PC for a month when it comes out. Not sure if it'll tempt me away from WoW though...

Already played a build, BETA maybe. The game is absolutely mess, has almost no collision response or any clipping system running. The characters are simply boring and non-suiting to that ideal Frank Frazetta -ish Hyborian world.

One thing I am assured of is that its gonna be a big disappointment because in a Conan game, nobody wants to be somebody other than him. Just wait and see the success of "Aion" on PS3.

Aion is as much of an unknown as many other MMORPG's at this point. Yes, it's beautiful, and yes, NC does have a good track record for the most part--but it's another Korean MMO, and we all know how most of them turn out, from the perspective of gameplay.

I'd still like to try this, and I don't think it needs WoW's numbers to be successful. There are different levels of success, after all. I'm not surprised that the beta is a buggy mess.. betas don't exist for the exclusive purpose of giving you an impression of the final product. I'm not saying that this will turn out well, but it looks pretty interesting anyway.

I'm interested in seeing how Warhammer turns out once complete.. and I want to see what Bioware is working on. There are quite a few up and coming MMORPG's on the horizon.

Hence beta ;)
Funcom should probably know what it's all about, since Anarchy online was/is a pretty big and well made game (maybe a tad dated now). You are right, the art style isn't all that reminiscent of Frazetta. Then again Frazetta isn't the only one who gave Conan a face. I can agree that the graphics look pretty bad though. At least in these shots.

But then again we all know that you bash this because it's not coming out for the PS3 :P

The conan action game is already out, but unfortunately only the first few levels are worth playing. They had their budget and dev time cut after a while and well...you can sort of tell :P

MMO graphics are always a mess, these aren't that bad. Last I heard you don't get to choose your class till level 5, and you don't get to join the rest of the MMO community till level 20.

I played a pc beta too. It was on Windows Vista though, so it had all kind of reasons not to work so well. I sure hope its better now, but I'm afraid this 360 MMO will not only be utterly uninspired, but hellish bad too.
