Xbox 360

Square-Enix updated (for the last time?) the Project Sylpheed official site. Nothing much was really interesting, but I think these 6 images are new. The game will be released in 2 weeks and we still have to see more than short 2-3 seconds gameplay sequences. I'm not sure this is a good sign.

that is worring, yeah. But the screens are nice, even though 3 is from the prerendered and the last 3 are in game. nice, nonetheless. Will be interesting to see how the final game fares.

I really can't imagine this being a poor game at all. Silpheed on the Sega CD was excellent, and since the original developers (right?) are on this one, I've got great hopes. Silpheed for the PS2 was awful, and I'm hoping this is more Ikaruga/Einheinder quality rather than that.

It's not a good sign. I can't put Bullet Witch behind me. We only knew of the game just a few short months before its release, and its quality failed to meet many peoples' expectations.

We knew about Bullet Witch ages ago, it just didn't get much coverage.

This game doesn't shout quailty to me.

Still no gameplay shots? Two weeks before launch?

Even Blue Dragon at least gave us about a few moments of those in its recycled trailers. Even Lost Odyssey had a couple of scans in Famitsu.

Has Sylpheed ever even appeared in gameplay form on print before? That is, it seems almost as if no one got to preview the game at all.

Things are looking down.

Bullet witch got released already? Bummer, thought it was a WIP. So I was expecting some improvements...

BTW, what kinda gameplay does sylpheed have? Havn't played any earlier titles on the franchise.

It s a shmup, you move around shooting space ships and avoiding obstacles/shots.

You choose your weapon arsenal before each level: one weapon for the left wing, one for the right wing. You can use twice the same or do a combo. You get rockets, auto-aim missles, vulcan canon, plasma ball, flail/spear,laser and such thing... enemies are more or less vulnerable to each, and choosing wisely is a must if you wish to do well in the levels (specialy if you aim to 1cc the game). The more you advance, the more powerful the weapons become (bigger range/damage etc)

if it's more like a traditional shmup(can't tell from shots), i'll get that for sure.

right now, senko no ronde is really keeping me busy! it's fun, and the online matches are cool. i need to find real people to play with, though.

the last three screens are ingame here, m8. Others have been released too, and there was ingame footage in the last trailer to, just mixed heavily with prerendered movie stuff.

Thier have been plenty of gameplay shots for this game actually. None in this batch, but in previous batches the ones with the HUD in them are gameplay.

Bulletwitch was an amazing game as well, I have more faith in gamearts to create a solid title then I did with caviat.

In anycase, this game is my only must buy title until blue dragon is released here in november or december. Only a little over a week to go until it hits the stores.

Square Enix makes wonderful games IMHO. But they're good in announcing fake releasedates, that's the only thing they disappoint me with. But they make it up to me by releasing those wonderful games :) So I forgive them every time.
