PS3

As expected Namco allowed a few big japanese gaming sites to put online a few images of Ridge Racer 7. Here are the images from the ever excellent gamewatch, and they are a better way to see the graphical evolution compared to RR6 than the scans. I can't say I'm totally impressed, but maybe it's the Ridge Racer art style.

looks great, is it going to have self damage? I'm bored of driving realistic looking cars and have them be like toy cars when you bump or hit a wall, no damage ..new and shiny as ever

The way cell is claimed about, it shouldn't be hard to do

Don't know what you are not impressed with. BlimBlim - Those screens are ace. Never been a fan of the series though, but this is a big step up from the earlier versions art and tech wise. Atleast graphics wise.

I think that he's not impressed with the subdued colors. I'd have to agree. I liked the bright and colorful RR6 better than this, even if this one technically looks much better.

This game looks beautiful...I've been a huge Ridge Racer fan since they original Arcade version back in 93', the tracks look fantastic, the cars detail is amazing they look so smooth...all the textures all good I can't see anything bad.

I can't wait to get my hands on it at TGS...Blim I'll racer ya! :D

I can understand this looking back on the former titles in the series. But RidgeRacer was always middleground graphics wise - not arcady as Outrun, Wipeout etc. and not realism like GT and PGR. Seems like Namco now have chosen more a realism standpoint which might work with the gameplay... and maybe it won't.

But you cannot deny this looks great.

It looks a bit more realistic, but it doesn't fit Ridge Racer at all. RR6 was the PSP version on consoles. The first true next-gen RR doesn't look amazing, but what I would expect from any game being released after November 2005. To be honest it doesn't look as good as PGR3.

With that said....Riiiidge Racer!

wow shit holy god not i say that because if the pics are real and not prerendered or art work yet so then i say wtf did namco do with rr to 360 ? :D well i can tell you they didn't do anything good with that game not what i think atleast but hey this looks damn impressiv :D. But for some "unknown reason" i doubt the pics don't tel me why but yet it looks super. ^^

May get something good out of this game :D

I've always loved the Arcade style of Ridge Racer!
Add these graphics, and you have one hell of a game.

Looks a lot like RR6 with a (far) superior lighting model. I've said it before and I'll say it again, lighting can make worlds of difference in how your game looks.

I know this has nothing to do with Ridge Racer, but the ninth, tenth, and eleventh screenshots look like they could've been created for Midgar in a Final Fantasy VII remake. That would be a hot game.

It looks just like RR6 to me. Not sure why people made fun of how RR6 looked and praise this one for the graphics.
