Xbox 360

Capcom has finally released new images from Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting (where some of them aren't in 720p). The 30 images are supposed to be from the latest build, but no new release date was given.

Might be a dumb question, but is Akuma a secret character in the game?

It's not in widescreen ?

Whats the pics with borders is that watch mode or something?

I wish someone would give us a true 720p 2D fighter, I think treasure are working on one.. :)

This game should have been dev'd from scratch to take full advantage of live and 720p graphics.. ahh well can't complain i suppose..

Can you believe how long it's taking for this game to come out? WHY? I don't get it.

to make it widescreen they would either have to stretch the image or do a lot more than a simple port. also, why the hold up on bc support for xbox vers. of SF Anniversary?

They should have put the quarter mode in an arcade machine bezel instead of the plain blue.

Well actually thats not true, the backgrounds are scrolling and the characters are sprite based so it wouldn't have been a huge challenge to change the aspect ratio.

But then its an XBLA game so i guess i shouldn't expect too much from something so cheap..

Akuma's not in there, he debuted as a secret character in Street Fighter 2: Turbo, with DJay, Cammy, Fei Long and T-Hawk, the version released after this one.

Actually Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo debuted after Super Street Fighter 2.

It must be the lag issue. I'm sure many will say "there's been an online SF2 before!" but it's a very hard thing to get right even in a new fighter like DOA4 let alone a game that was never designed to be played on anything but one machine.

Combine that with the less than stellar performance of the d-pad on the 360 controller and it could make for a very inconsistent game experience. I'm sure Capcom just want to do SF2 justice rather than taint our memories of the original.

Now I wasnt expecting the game too look any different from the snes days...But jeez, it looks way too plain. At least they could have had some SF artwork or whatever instead of a plain blue/black background surrounding the gamescreen.
