Xbox 360 PS3

Midway has released images of This Is Vegas, to be released next winter on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The developers Surreal Software are mostly known for their The Suffering series, and a little bit of information can be found inside.

Quoting press release:
Midway Games Inc. (NYSE: MWY), a leading interactive entertainment software publisher and developer, today announced This is Vegas™, an open world, lifestyle action experience, where players will live out their Vegas fantasies by fighting, gambling, driving and partying their way through the most decadent, fast-paced and wildest city in the world. Developed by Midway's acclaimed Seattle-based internal studio, Surreal, This is Vegas is expected to ship for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows-based PC in Winter 2008.

"We are thrilled to be unveiling the first-ever videogame experience which allows players to live out their wildest Vegas fantasies," said Alan Patmore, studio head, Surreal. "Whether it's partying in the hottest night clubs, racing in underground circuits, testing your luck at the tables or getting into a barroom brawl, This is Vegas has it all."

Great looking game(at least judging from MIDWAY as publishers). Area 51 wasn't all bad too and upcoming Mortal Kombat 8 is what I've eyes on. Latest Mortal Kombat 8 rumours, which I thought I should share with you guys are here:

This message is in "Boulet Time" (TM), If you still *really* want to see it, click here
Besides, in another but unrelated news I like to share with all here, its that PS3 just outsold Xbox360 in France, and in just10 months... WOW !.

I know this news won't be pleasant for a lot of folks on this site(hee hee hee) but... what can we do... a great news is a great news and we should share it !

Congratulations to French PS3 owners... their supported brand is strongest now in true next-gen hardware in France(as wii isn't next-gen you know), YIPPY !.

Here are this week's hardware sales of France and rest of Europe:

....lmao what a pointless post Farooq, congrats on the boulet.

back on topic, not too impressed by the visuals, on the other hand concept seems great though restricting it to Vegas may get boring unless they plan to bring expansions. I'm really digging the art work especially the image of the casino with the waterfall.

Here comes another GTA-clone... BUT this one seems to be some fun. I really like the athmosphere and stile of the game. The vid made me curious, too. I really hope the gameplay will be good, and when the grafx are really what we see on these screens I really will have to make a choice: GTA4 or TIV..... It's probably gonna be a hard decision ^^ Well, wait and see...

jaggies icky.... and stop with the F*CKING GTA-Clone stuff........ OPEN WORLD is a game TYPE... its like calling quake a doom clone give me a break.

as for this game the graphics look good hopefully they can get the AA under their belt and drop the jaggies a bit...... but other than that

upskirt in a game... interesting i wonder if the strip clubs will be fully accessible in the game :)

Sorry, that's what I wanted to say, another open world game... ^^ Nargh, Mercenaries is Open World, too, but I wouldn't compare it to GTA. Saints Row is a clone... and this title has some similiar points, too. But it wasn't meant negatively. You're quite right...

I don't know how big the world will be in TIV, but games with those big worlds are never graphically bombs... So I wouldn't count on it they will reduce the jaggies... and that's not important btw. It has to run smooth, and gameplay needs to be fair and accurate. When they add some AA or other filters, they need to downgrade some other qualities... Nargh, you know what I mean ^^

(BTW: Does that cowboy-guy on screen N°4 in artworks gallery have tits?! )

The main character looks like a douche, the textures are horrible and the game seems to be filled with what idiots with usually apply to their cars to make them look "cooler". Artarded vinyl decals that is. It looks terrible to me. It's better play incredibly good, though i doubt that too...hookers, street racing and being a crime lord just isn't my thing. On the positive side i do like the style of the artist who made the first four artwork-pics.

Well, I think those oldschoolish ugli stickers on the cars are supposed to look like that. In TIV there are 4 main gangs which own Casinos. One Rocker Gang, one Oldschool Gang, one very rich bling bling gang, and one more modern party and drugs gang. Therefore the 4 artworks. I think it's a cool idea not only to see high end tuned up cars, but also so nerdish wannabe tuned vehicles. Gives the game a more realistic feeling, caus when I look sometimes out of my office window, man, sometimes there are people with cars... *doh* ^^

I don't care about jaggies or graphics. What I do care about, is the uncanny valley and also how he looks and acts too much like the protagonist from Uncharted.

By the way, does anyone know the artist who drew these artworks? Not the company, but the actual artist's name.

I do not see why their has to be an either/or choice involved. That's like saying I'm either going to get DMC4 or Ninja Gaiden 2. They are both the same type of game and they both kick much ass. Most gamers with any sense, would simply just get both if they are into that kind of game.

With so many Open World/Sandbox genre games coming out in 2008: Grand Theft Auto IV, Saints Row 2, Prototype, 2 Days to Vegas, Burnout Paradise, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, Far Cry 2, Battlefield: Bad Company, Bully:Scholarship Edition, Saboteur, Race Driver: Grid and now This Is Vegas, why limit your choice to only two when there are so many games coming out this year in the open world genre?

nice 2 polygon boob in first pic lol. lmao. seriously, what kind of n00b modeled that? who allocates a few polys for the boobs and dozens, if not hundreds, for the nose and/or ears? Jeez. what a n00b. BOOBS ARE MORE IMPORTANT. big feature. center of attention. first grade stuff here. now I really don't want this game...
