Very nice intricate detail for an early PS4 game. Love the Ninja shop on the right of one of the screens.

So wish this was a launch title. The gameplay footage looked crazy smooth both visually and performance wise. Thankfully not long to wait after PS4 launch.

Graphics aren't the problem. These screens don't do it any favors.

Not to take away from the games visuals, as I do think it's beautiful, but I don't see how this is full of "intricate detail" but Watchdogs looks last gen :P

The shaders are what make all the difference, IMO, but I'm with MrWhite- These screens don't do it any favors.

yeah not the most exciting of shots showing a pretty empty world.

Gameplay stuff at E3 looked great. At the end of the day its more infamous.. I cant see it doing anything surprising. I do hope the continue the mission sharing though.. but would be nice if they announced co-op.

This is the only game of interest on the ps4 for me.

Awesome to see stuff that I recognize from my city! Seattle is a pretty awesome place for a game like this to take place.

Ouch, looks like they toned the details down. Compared to the first screens this looks really mediocre....No more bullshots I guess.

What? That's a pretty reasonable amount of aliasing. Did you expect aliasing suddenly wouldn't exist anymore?

Comparing bullshots to bullshots doesn't really help (there are a few in there). Looking at the in-game footage of both it shows Infamous is clearly the better looker. While I don't really get the Watchdogs hate, in every live showing since the first it's continued to look more downgraded visually as they lower the PC settings to match the consoles.

Yeah, plus watchdogs looks to be struggling performance wise, being a usual ubisoft screen-tear-a-thon with framerate drops. And little things like headlights reflecting in the wet road...something weirdly absent in watchdogs. They're both pretty empty looking worlds from what we've seen of both (although we've seen very little of infamous). watchdogs has had too many visual downgrades to impress anymore imo. Hopefully it gets the polish it needs before release.

Of course, but I'm not really talking IQ. Models, Physics systems, and small detail in the environment is what I'm getting at. I think Watchdogs is doing way more from what I've seen.

I think Infamous looks more comic book-ey (intentional, I'm sure), but it doesn't feel as "lived in" as WatchDogs, IMO. Second Son also has the edge on shaders and those cool smoke particles, but the destruction I saw was weak( with the only things blowing up being the soldiers tactical structures like the black towers, and even then they seemed to just fall apart without much consideration for where they were hit).

SS does have the edge in facial animation too, but if you look at the poly counts and amount of people on screen it's pretty different. WatchDogs certainly seems to have denser looking worlds. WD looks to have a bit more variety in gameplay as well.

Granted, WatchDogs didn't show much in the way of destruction, but cool subtleties like the wind simulation, the water(if you look close at the footage it looks amazing, and I'm surprised there hasn't been any talk of that), and the way the people react to you and how you can prevent them from calling in on you if you catch 'em all scream next-gen to me. So far SS seems like a prettier version of the earlier titles.

Of course it's still early and they haven't shown everything for either titles, and I want to play both :)

I just watched the Second Son gameplay vid and it had a good deal of screen tearing as well. I did notice that the destruction did start where it was struck, but disappointingly just goes all C-3PO and falls apart. I really want more of that, I think it was called Digital Molecular Deformation style destruction. Those are what I see this new generation having more of, along with water and cloth. ..

Visuals look nothing but amazing for an open-world game with so many stuff happening on screen, like all inFAMOUS games.

Visually this isn't that bad but I thought the first 2 games got boring and too formulaic way before the games were over. The stories and characters need to be far better. Especially the main character, cole was bland and this guy seems even worse.

Did you watch it from the gamespot E3 stage demo? Because the screen-tearing was due to bad capturing, not the game. The game actually has v-sync on, there's no screen-tearing whatsoever. Compare the following 2 vids:

Official vid (no screen-tearing): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uibnf_Q_51s
Gamespot (screen-tearing up the ***): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3-KOq-ru9A

Someone should kick gamespot in the balls for this, people are gonna think it's due to bad programming.
