Video PS4

Sucker Punch willing to satisfy the fans of inFamous: Second Son, they prepared a new patch which should please quite a good number of people. For starters, it is now possible to lock the game's frame rate at 30 fps, something the community had been asking for a while, just like for Killzone: Shadow Fall. Secondly, you can now choose the time of day once you've completed the main story. Last but not least, a new photo mode has been included to make the most stunning game images ever. As usual, if you want to see what this is all about, Gamersyde provides the best quality videos for you to admire Sucker Punch's eye-candiness.

he new camera feature is fantastic, you can freeze the entire game in any scene and move the camera around there scen, adding effects and depth of fields

i was amazed at how great the character model of delsin looks, zoom right in the the detail is fanastic

i wont use the locked 30fps mode, i dont see the point, i tried it and never saw any advantages infact when you blow something up the fps on the unlocked mode goes above 30fps so it looks more smooth

so why would you lock it at 30fps as that will cause more stuttering

really great update, camera mode is so good to feel the beauty of the game, guess lots of MVs will be made with this tool.

Very cool feature but I can't bring myself to even finish the game, it's so repetitive and lacks variety in glaring ways. I know the game didn't get rave reviews but I don't even see how it got good reviews. I was horribly letdown by this game. Pretty but dull.

It really sounds as if you played the first hour and then stopped. It's so short I don't see how you couldn't finish it in a few sittings. The biggest areas it's lacking in is the amount of content and enemy variety of the first two games, but other than that the gameplay is far from dull.

To me a huge lack of variety equals dull, no matter how you cut it.

You lock it to get a more stable (albeit lower) framerate. There was alot of judder, which for me is straining for the eyes and a not very pleasant experience. If a game can't keep 60 fps locked, I much prefer to lock it at 30.

agreed the side stuff lacked variety, but the actual main quest itself was quite good IMO, and the combat was really fun and the game looks spectacular... have a really hard time believing anyone who played this game couldn't get past the 8 or 10 hours or so that it takes to beat the main quest. Like.. did you even play the main missions?

The devs stated that the patch implemented a frame cap, not a frame lock (a lock would mean it doesn't go above or under 30 fps).
The frame rate can also be capped at 30fps, although the developer points out that this is a cap and not a lock--a few frames will still be dropped here and there when the action gets heavy.

Exactly, It's capped at 30. Sure there are drops below, but its still ALOT more consistent than before

Yes but I took the time to clear out all the zones and do the side missions, maybe if I stuck the the main story alone it would have been less dull but even the the main story never really grabbed me much.

Beat this game three times (Once good, twice evil). Loved it. Haters can hate, but I thought it was fun. The game is only as boring as the player that plays it. You'd be surprised at some the combat tactics you can use.

Love the new camera mode function. Easy to use and there isn't any hiccup when you use it. Wish more games had it.

You're right about the tearing, I haven't noticed any. But there is constant judder when not capping the framerate. Just because you don't notice it, doesn´t mean it isn't there. We are all different when it comes to how sensitive we are to things like this. For me it is really a big issue.

There is also frequent frame drops when areas are loading, something even the developers have acknowledged. I'm willing to bet that you haven't noticed them as well?
