Sony released two new videos of InFamous for the CES, the first one showing a long uncut gameplay sequence, and the second one some of the powers in action.

awesome quality as always, best on the net. infamous looks promising in terms of gameplay and presentation, i just hope there’s a good enough story or point to all the fancy destruction..

BTW blim, will you guys be uploading these killzone 2 videos?

Meh, this game is really lacking. Talk about mindless "shooting". Besides the framerate sucks ass as of right now.

That electricity sound effect was annoying after a 2 minute gameplay video...

was it just me who thought that it looks a little boring?

just tossing lightening and blowing stuff up. don't get me wrong blowing stuff up is great fun! but it seems to be every-other second.

it has a touch of the star wars unleashed about it. good but gets tedious quite quickly.

i'm giving this game the benefit of the doubt for now only because it's sucker punch behind it(the guys that made sly raccoon, one of my favourite games).
i hope there's alot more depth to it.

Could be fun for a short while, but he desparately needs some other weapons and/or special powers to use instead of just lightning.

And why did every enemy seem to be wearing the same red hoodie??

The destruction going on at the end of the second video was nuts. I'll be keeping my eye on this, it's shaping up to be the game I was hoping Crackdown would be.

Graphics are ok but Prototype is looking much better terms of gameplay. This seems really dull and repetitive.

this is THE most best example of graphics over gameplay.
the only thing imo that is awesome is the airstrike thing.

as i've said wityh prototype, as long as there is plenty of worthwhile stuff to do and the missions are varied enough (infamous does have more potential in that area then prototype) then it should be good, too early to say atm, it sure as hell look purdy tho.

I don't find lightning very satisfying...I agree with those who hope for more varied weapons and attacks as the constant zapping will certainly become dull.

Mindless indeed

Why did they make him look so nonchalant as he combats his foes and shoots electricity? Doesn't look satisfying at all

Your character holds his hand up the entire game like he's in a classroom with a question

this reminds me of Crackdown, in a good way. but the animations so far are pretty horrible.

@korndog, looks really stupid when he sends out the electric blast. there's no "oomph" behind it just looks lazy.

It looks pretty cool, but I expect more heavier upgrades throughout the game.
I love lightning powers, so I have my ways of imagining how lightning should work as a power and this guy isnt using it unfortunetly.
For example Kakashi from Naruto is a good way to go.

Anyway, It looks pretty decent, not a fan of the animation, for example the running and jumping. And the climbing looks bad compared to Assassins Creed.

But its all good.

Couldn't have put it better myself. This whole zapping thing is ridiculous, not only is the noise annoying, imagine having to hit X every second of gameplay.

What makes you say infamous has more potential in the variety of its missions? other than the fact that its a ps3 exclusive and prototype isnt ofcourse.

In the space of one video i've seen the guy from prototype leap buildings to the point he's almost flying, steal helicopters, throw cars, morpth into people, and kill tanks.
I've seen the infamous guy shoot out lightening from his hand..complimented by the bad animation in doing it.

Don't get me wrong, i'm still interested in playing infamous, but we know nothing of the variety in missions in either game yet. Only that prototype seems to be a hell of alot more flexable in the variety of action it offers.

just the scale and pacing. 99% of what you just listed as "variety" are destruction based. and i cant imagine the game being anything more then that. i'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say prototype will be about 6 hours of the same "go there and destroy that" mission objectives, with about 10 addition hours of repetative random "activities"...just like spider-man 3. the game is too destructive, and as a result is limiting itself. you only have to look at hulk ultimate destruction to see how their games work. and prototype looks like a re-skinned version of that game.

infamous however is less of a spider-man open world game, and more of a shooter. its slower paced and less frantic. with smaller more confined and thought out battles. not just outright mindless mayhem

the fact we have yet to see anything besides pure destruction in prototype indicates to me that its a one trick pony and thats all the game has to offer. sort of like mercs 2. you did the same old shit over and over and over because thats all the game was.... pure destruction. but if you enjoy that sort of limited repetition, then im sure prototype is the game for you.

looks to me like prototype's trying to do too much without doing anything brilliantly. the combat looks a mess, flying ok, and the city though brimming with activity is textured quite poorly. visually infamous definitely has the edge. the combat seems tight and well thought out (using ledges and poles for cover is a prime example). prototype's variety of possibilities seem underdeveloped, but then how much can you tell from vids? at this stage i' more excited for infamous.
