i'm losing interest in this. the more i see of it the more it looks like one of those games where you HAVE to create your own "fun" becasue the developers didnt make it fun themselves. kinda like saints row 2.
not putting in a multiplayer option sucks donkeybawls.... it was a nobrainer until i found out there wasnt a MP. wtf... a sandboxgame without MP.. thats gonna be fun for liek... 1 playthru. sigh -.-

I just saw the IGN walkthrough and I must say Im very impressed.
I just love this kinds of games where I can approach any mission the way I want,this one and Read Red Redemption are a must buys for me now!!
One in present times with high tech weapons and parachutes,grappling hooks explosions everywhere and beautifuul if may I add and teh other the good ol western and horses and killing animals and hookers and spit and smoke cigars looking at the moon with a lone wolf houling in the distance oh my.......

SR2 was awesome, and if this is as fun as it was, I will be pleased.

You have got the whole thing upside down! Developers give so many opportunities, that you CAN choose what you do, to have fun. It is different kind of gameplay. Perhaps not the kind that you like.

Don't know what to think of that. Bionic Commando meets Red Faction, but nothing spectacular. No wow-moments in that walkthrough.

no, you HAVE to make you own fun, otherwise it isnt fun. just look at that mission video from ign. that isnt a very interesting mission, in fact, it's incredibly boring, the only way to make this game fun it seems is to go out of your way to do the "sandbox" features of the combat. i mean, sure you can teather a guy to an explosive barral, but really, outside of the initial hony moon period with the game, when is that going to be a decent tactical decision. it isnt, it's easier to just shoot the barrel untill it explodes.
for me the devs have made mind numbingly boring missions with the hope that people can make them fun on their own...that's not good design imo. it's what was wrong with the first game and i can imagine it's what will be wrong with this one.

Of course it would be less fun to do everything that is just tactical and wise. Sure it might be boring not to take advantage of all the possibilities. That is the choice you make during the game. What can missions be? You go from one point to another. Why not do it the way you want to? I think that it is fun to just shoot the barrel OR tether an enemy to it and then shoot it. For me, possibilities lengthen the game and not the other way around.
I just played the demo and I like it a lot. Sometimes it gets so dark in the game that beautiful night-time lighting appears.
