oppressive governments and guerrilla warfare is the basis of the story, since the first game. much like what you would do in GTA games, only difference is that it works in context to this type of setting. (hence the title Just cause)
Any kind of approach to gameplay works together with the story; all to cripple a government's power and structure.
His outfits have been the basis of a lot of shooters.
I just hate it when artists lose their creativity to standout or search real departments for ideas, and that they have to resort to movies for clothing designs.

but frankly we're arguing originality in a thread about a games who's first iteration looked like desperado's antonio banderas. it's all kinds of pointless. lol
on-topic though. this game looks far too JC2.5 for me. there's just not enough depth or focus to make for a particularly rewarding or well designed experience. the moment you've surfed a plane the novelty wears off and you never end up doing it again. but that's kinda what these games are all about. novelty ways of getting about but ultimately doing the same old shit. my only hope is that it is like the second game. £5 after a few months, then i might give it a punt :D

If you're talking about which came before The first Die hard was in 1988, 27 years ago. the outfit design in UC4 is an obvious copy of a 8 year old movie in a series that's 27 year old. ND's source of inspiration is movies for which they take some of the qualities and put them into their games.

JC3 seems like a pretty fun game to me, it's got lots of exploring and it's offering extra features gameplay wise in it's map.
