Graphics are awesome, but that looks mighty cheap. So one class gets an enemy locator and the others get screwed, nice...

Infiltrator has super speed + unlimited sprint you can unlock, imagine that crap in Search and Retrieve modes, its dumb...as it was in the beta.

What Killzone 3 beta ruined it for me was Tactician and Infiltrator, horrible balancing issues with their abilities IMO, was annoying, especially the "wallhack" you see in this video.
Last time I checked, wallhack was considered cheating, and here they encourage you to use it, meh.

Hopefully its more fun to play this time around.

Yeah, if you are going to have motion sensors for everyone, that's one thing, but if only one class knows when an enemy is coming around the corner, that's pretty shitty. I'm not encouraged by the "kill streaks" either. Talk about implementing the wrong stuff...

People don't want challenging MP anymore, they want kills handed to them and nifty little experience point rewards.

I wish you could install the multiplayer components on the PS3 HDD...I hate having to change the damn disc if I want to multiplayer. Uncharted 2 multi = change the disc, Killzone 2 multi = change the disc again why can't it be like Warhawk or Battlefield 1943? So annoying

you know how the term "painting come to life" was thrown around at the time of GOW3. this game actually achieves that imo. it looks freakishly good. GG are wizards.

looks great tho, canne wait

i know, it really does. seriesously, the opening gameplay looks like a generational leap compared to other FPS's out there. it has a soft, painted, CGi look to it. i'm gobsmacked by it

Yeah.

But the killstreaks arent as dumb as CoD series.
The Killstreak ribbons are more as abilties like fast reload, silent footsteps, more bullet damage, double XP, minor extras like that. In time most players will get them anyways when they play, its not something you choose in pre-game. Everyone gets them if they play good.
Its not like CoD were you can call in a few choppers and missiles in row...thank god.

The killstreaks dont bother me as much as the crappy abilities the Tactician and Infiltrator has.

It's the same bullshit Sath. If you earn a few kills, you get rewards that make the game easier. Brilliant. Crysis 2 has the same nonsense too.

How is that nonsense.
People like being rewarded for doing GOOD things.
if you work better then the rest, you get promoted.
if you make better food people go to you instead of the other.
,
it may be unfair but people like being rewarded its in out nature^^.

In cod i dont think its unfair if someone got a nuke,i thought, wow thats really good of him getting 20 kills whiteout dying.

Except in the process they're removing challenge and balance. Getting killstreaks (especially ones that STACK in MW2) isn't difficult, but that's not even the issue. It's a fundamentally flawed concept where people get little goodies that make the game easier and easier to play. Hell they rolled in back in BLOPS and you can still come out on top of the scoreboard without even firing a damn gun.

Killstreaks are as broken as your analogy. Multiplayer games have more in common with sport than they do your day at the office. Do soccer players get bionic legs for kicking a sweet goal? Give me a break.

Abilities kinda remind me of situational awareness on UN 2, which was sorta cheap, so I hope theres a way to counter it. The game is absolutlely gorgeous tho!

@grifx
No but a good soccer player does get better training and funds then a player less good.
Plus if some one else gets a reward it makes it harder for you and visa versa.

So i dont see how its broken.
The only thing a partially agree on is that if its done wrong it can be unbalancing.

I agree with Grifx.

I think killstreaks are one of the worst developments to come out of shooters this gen. They are completely counter to how a game should work; it shouldn't getting easier for the players doing well. Killstreaks do this. They buff the already capable players abilities and scores, whilst making the challenge tougher for the opposition.

I find playing the Barebones playlist really shows how the game should play, and I oft do 10x better.

Tbh, i think they could take a page from WolfET (yes, that ghetto old free fps for pc). It had the "class" system, but they were pretty well balanced and would improve for that specific game, and improve based on accomplishing your tasks as that role. For those of you who dont know the game, you could be an eng. who's roll was to set explosives, disarm explosives, set mines, etc...by doing these things you would unlock new abilities as you gained xp in that class. There was also a covert agent roll, which in the end allowed you to disguise yourself as an opponent (which only worked at range). They all had their unique limitations too. I think having your skills reset per match helps cause it makes you have to consistently perform in your role. So, if you're a good (insert class here) you'll level up quickly because you're good at that, not because you've grinded hours on end and now have upgrades, not necissarily because you're good, but because you put time in.

It's such a bummer that there's no way to filter barebones servers in the PC version of BLOPS.

@Xeviant: ET and ETQW have some of the most balanced and best models for tackling this period. It gives me high hopes for Brink, but also makes me cautious, since ETQW was far from perfect.

I could get behind the "streaks" if it was something more skill-based, like unlocking a vehicle and counterable. Just having a vehicle fly around and kill for you(and have it count) is just cheap. The Soccer analogy doesn't work because the soccer player still has to make the goals himself- he doesn't get a goal-shooting robot set up in front of the goal while he has another ball he can run around and shoot with while the keeper is distracted...

That's why I used that analogy :P The idea that you can get bonuses in what's supposed to be a balanced, compeditive game and make it fair is nonsense. But that's why most modern FPS games are mostly nonsense.
