Old images from GC 10.

Looks fantastic as usual, but all that will be for nothing if the gameplay sucks.

Killzone 2 MP is shit these days IMO, too much annoying stuff that makes it unplayable.
I was playing it 2-3 days ago and all you will find is annoying Radec Academy only levels, if you want other maps you will see Assault Class in there which is the most unbalanced class there is.

I hope they fix it for Killzone 3 MP, if not it will be another clusterfuck with explosives, bad controls (unless they truly fixed it), spawnkilling...but with good graphics.

I am just hoping for the best, if they fuck it up like Killzone 2 MP, I will focus on Crysis 2 then.

Some badass screens there. My concern is the supposed datasheet taken from GC10 where it mentions multiplayer to be 2-24. Did they reduce the player count?

No real point if the maps are supposedly 10X bigger.

They really need to stop with all the filter and bluriness, it's geting silly. That aside, nice contrast to the snow levels.

maps are 10 times bigger in single player. more tight and focused in multiplayer. hence the player reduction. also seen that it has 1-2 player offline, so either that's split screen multiplayer with bots, or it's split screen co-op. assuming of course it's a legitimate peice of info

will be playing this beast in 3D. canne fucking wait. looks stunning.

it's the site of the nuke that went off in the second game..so apocolyptic is exactly right.

Particle effects looks off the charts which is probably being 100% rendered by SPU's bypassing the RSX all together like Uncharted 2. Just imagine what it could look like if they were devoting the entire processing capabilities of the hardware (and the development teams effort) to the game instead of wasting resources (both human and hardware) on 3D for the .05% of the worlds population that can utilize 3D. Idiots.

tbh, when it comes to killzone, there isnt an inferior version, the game looks immense whether you're playing 2D or 3D. i'll probably mix and match depending on my mood simply becasue i can. lol

If they are wasting development time on 3D then they are subtracting value from the 2D version plain and simple. Each employee only has so much time in a day to work and meet deadlines. If they are spending x hours on 3D that is x hours they are not spending on 2D. Simple as that.

Sure it looks great with both version but it could look much better if they were just putting all the development time into one version. There are things they will not be able to implement in 2D because they will have to keep in mind "Hey this will look amazing in the 2D version........ oh yeah........we don't have enough processing power to do that in 3D because we have to render it twice, scrap that idea because we can't make two separate versions of the game."

i've said it before and i'll say it again. killzone 3 looks better then the already amazing looking killzone 2. yet it manages to pull off 3D. win win situation, no matter how you want to spin it.

Doesn't look that Impressive. Played it myself and its fun to play but nothing Extraordinary. Only Standard Multiplayer. Even Gfx aren't that Good to say its the new Reference. But the Gun handling is the most Realistic i have ever seen.
It feels right when you Reload ore Walk with it.

Overhyped graphics to me, and KZ2 has always been over rated on graphics to me but o well not trying to cause any flame wars I was really hyped for KZ2 and enjoyed the mp for a while, sp bored me though =(. Anyways there's too much film grain on these which I utterly hate in all games, destroys the look of games for me the only game that comes to mind atm is mass effect 1 because I remember switching it on to check it out, it's bloody awful wish devs would stop using it.

Logic != Spin

I will say it again the second time; just because it looks great doesn't mean it could not have looked even better if they were not wasting resources on 3D.

Your posting history points out the obvious reason why you are oblivious to seeing things logically. If it's on PS3 it can do no wrong in your mind. This to shall pass with age and eventually you will view it logically instead of emotionally like the rest of us do.

how is it "wasting" resources on 3D?

no increase in texture res, or particle effects, or poly count can replicate the viewing experience of 3D which will benefit the game greatly and push it beyond that of anything else out there. they made a game that looks better, performes better, is larger in scale, has better effects, all in 2D, and they've managed to retain that vision for 3D. it's a non-issue, despite how much you'd like to think it is.

as for my post history, believe what you want. doesnt bother me in the slightest ;)

KZ2 is still one of the best if not the best looking game I think. KZ3 will raise it even more. These online shots look amazing and here is the PS move demo:

The game looks quite impressive, IMO. I can't believe people are bitching about the visuals for this game. IF the controls and gameplay flow are fixed, I will be quite happy. As for how the 3d is rendered, I highly doubt anyone here knows exactly how much resources it takes- I'm reasonably sure it isn't double processing, as there is no way a game can look better and still use twice the resources. There is certainly some trick to it( perhaps something like they did in the first tekken or sports games where they show whats happening in the game on a screen in the background..)

K2 for me lacked soul.Technically sound of course and certain aspects of design are well crafted, but there is a lack of identity and reason to care.Including Rico the way he was shows this general lack of understanding

Ignore this stuff and it's at least a solid enough blast albeit one with little in the way of combat layers

That said it's only very few games in this genre that are any good anyway

Yes, this was a problem faced after coming off the first one which was an interesting experiment and enough worked for me to enjoy it. Far too much of the personality of the first Killzone was lost in the sequel in favor of technical things. It doesn't help that they gave us the least interesting and most annoying character of the 4 back with us.
