Cant believe MS happily allow Rare to sit on their existing IP's. I want my killer instinct..or at the very least a HD remake of them. You'd think MS would of jumped on the new 2D beat'em up resurrection by now

We can still hope to see them again. Even if it is an important aspect of their work, I don't think that Rare will only do Kinect titles from now on.

If this thing had been around $50 USD... then it would have been a no brainer for me to decide and give this a shot... at $150? Are they crazy? For some homemaker at home watching Oprah or Ellen, to decide they want one of these things, then realize its $150 for the Kinect and another $200-300 for the base system, not including a year of Xbox LIVE, if they want to play online... not in this economy. I hear MS saying the Kinect will do better sales numbers than the Wii did its first holiday season, yeah we'll see MS.

Its a cool tech... but the ticket to get into it isn't justifiable for the casual person or even a hardcore gamer who already owns a 360.

My prediction is that in 6 months time after a luke warm response, you'll be able to pick up a Kinect with 2 bundled games for $75 USD. I don't think that Nintendo has anything to worry about... granted I haven't played around with a Kinect yet.

This Kinect is a cool party game at best... It will be like the RockBand Rhythm games. It will be great the first few weeks, then will sit unused, until you have a group of friends over. Prove me wrong MS... I dare you.

Actually the price to get a Kinect bundle (Kinect + 360) is $299.99. Not bad, still would be better at $250 (the launch price of the Wii).

As for Kinect outselling Wii this holiday, that too is kind of a nobrainer. As I understand, 360 all by it's poor lonesome has been outselling Wii for the past four months - apparently a first. Judging by retailers I have spoken with who all say their original shipment of Kinects are already sold out, plus Amazon's top 100 chart (which I have been tracking since E3) I have little doubt that pre-orders alone for Kinect, are already above Wii monthly sales numbers.

They got one killer app at launch, Dance Central, which everyone who's played it, even hardcore gamers, says is awesome. They got a couple of solid launch titles, Kinectimals and Your Shape Fitness Evolved. Plus they have some filler variety at launch as well: Sonic Free Riders, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Joy Ride, Kinect Sports, Fighters Uncaged, Adrenalin Misfits.

And there still is the matter of the $500 million of marketing Microsoft is throwing behind Kinect.

Let's put all this into context. The original Xbox launched with far less going for it at launch - only one game to this day ever worth speaking of, less than $100 million of marketing, no Xbox LIVE, no extra features other than to play DVDs (if you bought the DVD kit sold separately), by a company who had never, ever launched a game console before, in the face of the unstoppable juggernaut that was PS2 . . . and despite it's hurdles, it went on to sell 25 million units. Even if Kinect does not sustain Wii like number for the next three years, it's going to at least do as well as Xbox 1.

The game lineup on the system may not be for those of us here, but secretly wishing that it fails and disguising that as a 'legitimate' prediction of Kinect's future, because it does not offer us anything, is a bit selfish, don't ya think. I for one am more than happy every time one of my parents picks up the controller to the Wii - they've criticized my love of video games as childish for decades now, and thanks to Nintendo, here they are playing those same games I was chided for - how is that for irony.

And with what Kinect offers that Wii does not (most notably, support of HDTV, and video chat), they've already let me know (in so many words) what 'bundle of joy' they expect me to get them for Christmas. And to be honest with you, if this is what it takes to get people like that gaming, then fine. But who am I to want to exclude them from the fun of gaming, because they do not like to game the way I like to game? If that were the case, I'd have rained on the parade of MMO fans ages ago, because to me MMOs are stupid and a pointless waste of time. But that does not stop tens of millions of people who would not game otherwise, from playing them. And I'm not going to harsh on their mellow, because I think it'll give me a false sense of superiority for doing so.

Make no mistake about it, if Kinect's software lineup was filled with the types of games we liked, half the people here would be swearing that it was the best invention in the history of gaming (and the other half would be calling it junk because it was not made by Sony). But when you honestly think about lineup of games already slated to come out over the next six months just for Xbox and Playstation (Vanquish, Fallout: New Vegas, SW: Force Unleashed 2, Fable 3, Rock Band 3, COD: Black Ops, NFS Hot Pursuit, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Dead Space 2, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Homefront, Bulletstorm, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dragon Age 2, True Crime: Hong Kong, Crysis 2, Dungeon Siege 3, Brink, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Red Faction: Armageddon, Spec Ops: The Line, etc.) when exactly would there have been time to play Kinect games anyway, if all the Kinect launch games were hardcore games? With a regular game lineup this heavy already set in stone, launching Kinect with a ton of hardcore games, would only have hurt the sales of Kinect, and hurt the sales of all those other games.

The way I see it, the casual gamers like my parents are easily going to keep Kinect afloat until the hardcore games finally show up. Considering it usually takes 24 months to make a proper hardcore game, and Kinect development kits only went out at E3 2009 when "Project Natal" was announced, the second half of 2011 is when the hardcore Kinect games were going to show up anyway. And of course by then, all this fussing over "Kinect sucks" or "Kinect is going to fail" will dissipate like so much vapor.

I sure hear a lot of so called hardcore players - what does it really even mean - that see Kinect as a bit of a joke.Thing is yes it's not in keeping with what a traditional play experience is but that doesn't mean it's got no worth

If anything i'm getting more a sense of the good old days like that of the Atari 2600 for example.I actually like the idea of plugging leaks in a glass cage when it's under attack from killer fish. And despite how simple that particular game might be, it's fun and in all honesty that's something i don't always get from my games these days

I love games like Halo, Bayonetta etc but there will always be room to play fresh and unique experiences too.Granted i don't want 99% rubbish like unfortunately most devs will be pumping out but that's not the hardware's fault anyway

Myself and some pals have had there's preordered for a while now

Providing the experience is a well delivered one Kinect should do very well.I don't think it really sinks in just how fresh an experience a no controller can potentially be- and for some that will be quite a game changer

You can't deny that Kinect is an awesome piece of technology.

There are many games to come that will suck badly and to be quite frankly, I dont think that Kinect will be profitable for MS.

I guess that Kinect will smoothen the way of controllerless gaming and that it will be copied my Sony and Nintendo by no later than the launch of next gen consoles...

WoW hah, I've been playing Kinect since last night and it is a boat load of fun. These adverts are not lying and everyone I've played with online is laughing and having a good time. Unlike other hardcore games filled with cursing, threats and personal attacks. I'm not saying its better than a normal Xbox 360 game or works better than a normal Xbox 360 controller but its different and to tell you the truth that is what makes it great.

Now you guys can talk all the crap you want but everyone that I have seen playing the final Kinect is having fun and excited maybe you should get out of your "hardcore" bubble and try it yourself.

Unless your too high on your high horse to try it.
