We'll see what more they show. So far it gives me a feeling it's gonna be Dante's Inferno vs. Bayonetta but the experience with N3 made me cautious about games like this. There can still be many elements that ruin the game.
If I remember right, If SHE dies, it is game over. No wonder why the main character carries her around.
Now that freaking sucks ALOT, I hate games were I have to babysit a character.
Now I like the combat, very nice visual effects and all that, but that gameplay design sucks.
And another thing I dislike alot is that the main character having only scythe as a weapon.
I hated it in Dante's Inferno, and I will hate it for ever.
Me and big weapons dont go together unless its swords or short swords.
However, atleast Dante DI and this guy can handle a Scythe pretty quick and visceral which is good.
I will definitely keep track of this game though.
As for the babysitting I agree that sucks hard!
damn it!
damn it!
First I will play some Castlevania then later that mont my precious Vanquish!!

1) Gretchen isn't even that unusual of a name.
i don't know where you got the idea that it is some archaic name.
it is a still fairly actively used female given name.
i know a Gretchen and she's not even German.
2) pray tell what is a "Gretchen" supposed to look like?
because the Gretchen i know is probably a lot closer to Britney Spears than what i suspect you think a "Gretchen" looks like.
the name DOES fit the character, i.e. a character set in a pseudo-German setting, thus a common German girl's name.
last time i checked, names didn't come with appearance requirements.
national and ethnic norms, sure (which she in theory satisfies, as much as any fictional character would).
but Gretchens don't "look" like anything.
