Trailer Xbox 360 PS3

Namco-Bandai informs us that its medieval action-adventure game, Knights Contract, has finally hit the stores. So as usual, here are the launch trailer and the associated press release.

Press release :

CERGY-PONTOISE, FRANCE, FRANCE – 25 February 2011 – NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe S.A.S today announced that Knights Contract™ is now available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. Recreating medieval Europe, this stylized action-adventure game explores the dark lore of swordsmen and magic during the 17th century. With razor-sharp combat and an intriguing storyline, players will be at the edge of their seats as they follow the path of an unlikely duo that embark on a daunting mission to save the human race.

In Knights Contract, take a journey through a world where witches have been hunted and brutally executed for allegedly unleashing a plague onto humanity. The game follows the twisted tale of Heinrich, an immortal executioner, and Gretchen, a resurrected witch. Once the victim of Heinrich’s blade, Gretchen now has him under contract to fight alongside her and the two must work together to rid the land of the vengeful enemies who are out to destroy civilization. But beyond these malicious foes lies an even bigger threat that is responsible for the black spell of death.

Armed with Heinrich’s finely honed scythes and Gretchen’s explosive witchcraft, players must utilize these tools in battle as they travel through malevolent environments that are invested with evil. Coordinating the efforts of Heinrich and Gretchen will be critical in order to deal tremendous damage onto their tormentors with fluid, fast-paced combinations and gruesome finishers. As the immortal executioner, players must protect Gretchen against hideous creatures and unspeakable horror as her magical prowess and mortality are the key to the duo’s survival.

From what I understand, the guy is immortal while the girl is not.
So by carrying her you heal her and yourself from falling down on the battlefield.

Though I HATE games were you have to babysit someone, pisses me off.

And I hate scythe as a weapon, I hate all weapons unless its swords!
This game seems to be exactly like Castlevania and Dante's Inferno...one weapon throughout the entire game, unacceptable for such a genre these days.

I love the music, setting and the visual effects though.
Also surprised for a big guy he is pretty fast with the scythe during combat considering War from Darksiders was a tank.

I havent bought it, but I am tempted a bit, it is in my favorite genre afterall.

PS. Amazing CGI trailers for this game, really great.

All these CGI trailers are the best thing about Knights Contract. This game is from the same league as Golden Axe Beast Rider.
Let's see what we get - awful combat system, boring-ass battles, worst QTE's ever, bland looking environments!
Played the first 4 levels on hardest available difficulty and it's boooring as hell. Borrow it from friend of course.
Loved Genji 1, Folklore....it's a shame Game Republic didn't put any effort on their new games.

btw Sorry for my bad english.

I also read in a review that the graphics are just bad. Still, i enjoyed the reveal trailer, reminded me of the cgi LIES that DA Origins cooked up. I wish they'd all stop that, respect to Skyrim for example , just great 360 footage.

@IRAIPTOIR,
who is the guy in your avatar pic btw ? I can't work it out and keep seeing Eddie Izzard playing the guy in Inception :S

I would love to see just the CGI parts of this game uploaded. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think Blur Studios did around 5 minutes worth of work for the game.

You know, this studio has yet to make a great game (though Folks Soul came close), but goddamn it they know how to craft a fine virtual lady. Gonna give this a try later today

Getting kinda tired of good verses evil stories. Need something a bit more ambiguous as to my moral choices.

The NWO thanks you for supporting its war on morality. As for the game, I'll check out the reviews and might still try it even if they're bad since it looks like a sequel to the Dreamcast's Beserk.

All I'm saying is make things a little more realistic.

There are very few people who genuinly go about thinking "I'm going to evil today just for the hell of it."

Most people who are doing awful things think that they are doing it for the greater good, to help people.
