Rockstar have just revealed some new screens for L.A. Noire (The High Life of Los Angeles, 1947) and gives some more details about the game.
Detective Cole Phelps will soon learn firsthand though what they say about all that glitters. With power comes ruthlessness, with wealth and privilege come greed, with fame comes desperation - and below that high-gloss sheen lie the darkest of souls.

It's seriously sad to see people who are only interested in the visuals being technically comparable to the best, completely ignoring the effort that has gone in to the art direction and successfully creating the game with such technical restrictions.
The visuals are absolutely fantastic, and if you can't see that then you are blind.
