GSY Video PS4 Xbox One

Destiny's alpha was made available yesterday evening on PS4 and although Sony's servers were pretty slow in the end, we managed to get the game in time to prepare a couple of videos. The gameplay one is still uploading and shouldn't be up before a few more hours, but here is an environment video to enjoy until then. More footage will come in the days to come so you can appreciate the amount of work Bungie's guys have achieved to create such an immersive world. Art style, music, gameplay, everything is absolutely beautiful and we can't wait to play more. Our only grudge for the moment is that enemy respawn happens a bit too often to our liking, which always disturbs our peaceful wandering around. It's only fair though as Destiny is no stroll simulation after all.
Update: First gameplay video added.

No it's 30 fps.

Not that I know of, in the alpha at least. I haven't played that much yet though.

Really not blown away by how it looks graphically and really questioning if it will actually be fun....the same with dying light...
My biggest problem I saw watching this video was just the textures, blahhhh....

Kinda surprised by the whole 3rd person view and the market he was in which reallly gave me a RPG vibe, not sure if this is my cup of tea.

Part of me thinks the more I see the less impressed I become, much like watch dogs and the order. It feels like the took borderlands and gave it the halo treatment. But that being said I do actually like the look of this game. It's not really technically impressive but it just has a nice colorful unique semi cell shaded look that seems to add character.

That all being said the real question is can they keep an open world entertaining. I thought borderlands got boring well before the end is I'm hoping they find a way to keep this going longer but it certainly have my doubts.

Played alot last night. I liked what I played though. I'm immpressed. The last boss in this Alpha was a challenge but who knows what's going to be in final game. You can revive your teamates. If you wipe, you start over. There were complaints about frequency of loot but I didn't run into it. Found some loot for my level. I think the game overall looks really good and the 30fps lock didn't bother me at all but it might some others. There's a guy who like the techer in PSO who, unlocks or shows you what these green engrams are. Engrams can be armor, guns from what I found. Anyone whos played Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen gets the idea. IQ isn't bad, imo. There's some jags here and there, little shimmering on some surfaces but hopefully not too distracting. It is an Alpha.

Imo, the initial vids didn't do the game justice as far as tempo goes. The game I played was fast paced and needed situational awareness. The 1st team I played with wasn't even aware we were being fired upon from 3 different enemies and positions. I was killed a few times against the harder enemies. Depending on how Bungie does things, I can't comment on repetitiveness for now. The only problem I did have that I usually don't in Battle Field is where some bullets may be coming from when enemies miss you. If you're hit a red arrow shows in which direction the fire came from. If they miss it can be hard to tell. In BF, even if people or npcs miss and I'm not facing their direction, If I see the bullets I have an Idea where they came from. Had trouble with this somewhat in Destiny.

very nice.

i really like the direction Bungie is going with Destiny. Yes, it doesn't
look photorealistic but it looks great and very coherent. Not afraid to be bold on colours and the backdrops are gorgeous as you would expect from Bungie.

This looked really good last year..now it seems to have a 'scratchy' Halo Reach look about it. Still want it...but yeah, could do with a bit of polish. Hopefully retail will have that.

As a PC gamer I have huge respect for their decision not to release a PC version. Why? Because they clearly said they do not have the capacity to make a high quality game on PC right now. A good call, given that other companies just release crappy PC versions to make extra cash.

Meh not impressed at all, i dont see why loads of people are always going on about this game

Graphics wise...looks OK but does not look like a game you would really show off in terms of graphics and im getting a cel shaded feel more than a made to look real feel if you know what i mean....i know obviously alien planets etc are not real BUT it just looks a bit cartoon like in alot of places, which is not my thing.

Plus i dont do multiplayer at all, someone told me this lets you play single player missions and i was waiting for more videos to be released before i preorder but so far ive seen nothing that i like not even to buy it preowned

i did not like what i saw BUT i didnt like the 3rd person aspect either tbh, a game needs to decide its either first person or 3rd....i hate a game that tries to be both specially like in this video the character in 3rd person mode looks pretty bad

no way, completely shocked that it's actually got a 3rd person camera as well!! that just opened more replay value to the gameplay.

a game needs to decide its either first person or 3rd.
Destiny is a first person shooter natively, most if not all of it's debuted footage puts it clear. the extra camera is optional.

I wouldn't be surprised 98% if not all of Destiny's gameplay was from the PC version the whole time.

It's about time people started to invest in PC gaming.

this game is not cell shaded, there are no outlines on the characters. it looks that way because it's not the PC version.

Been playing the Alpha for more than 10 hours now and I believe the hype. The graphics are gorgeous with plenty of small details and pretty high resolution textures, sharp and impressive particle effects, beautiful skyboxes, and mind blowing lighting.

This is a game that you have to physically see in person in order to truly appreciate its visuals. Nevertheless, the first moment I landed on Old Russia, my mind was more blown than Crysis 3's visuals.

Videos really don't do this game justice. If I'd just gone by what Bungie has shown us, I'd still be ignoring this game. They really need to get this game into the hands of as many people as possible. Go pre-order it for free on Amazon, get into the Beta and try it for yourself.

Agree with you here as I've said the same in my impressions of the game after playing it. The videos Bungie has chosen, don't completely portray the experience. There's a thread on NeoGaf with impressions, mostly positive.
