They make it sound like there is persistent death in the game (each town has X number of NPCs and if you kill them all they stay dead, thus creating a ghost town). This would be awesome if true. Not many games outside of Bethesda RPGs give you that level of freedom.

Woa there's a difference here. You can't go into the main towns/cities in this game and just start murdering everybody...
If you pay attention during the video he's talking about a gang or posse who have taken over a decrepit (run-down) town.. There's a lot of difference there.

Nonetheless, this game is going to be awesome! Euphoria enabled poncho physics! Awesome!

wish player could take over the town after cleared of bandits and start building it up, also shame that ghost towns dont re populate after while, bumsmove in or imigrants, seems if you play it long enough everything in rdr will be dead lmao, but roll on 21 may cannot wait play it \o/

Euphoria engine really elevates the whole look to a new level. The way people fall down and die, or the way the get up just after being dragged behind a horse looks really fluid and realistic. Everything has nice weight to it and everything just looks "natural" ( kinda the purpose, right?). But to me it still is impressive. Shame that so few games use it.

It really shows how the extra development time has served this game. The locals, attention to detail, atmosphere etc. are stunning. Good job, R*

Yeah, I suspected they might not be talking about the whole world. Still an impressive feat. I just hope these bandit enclaves aren't all shoot-on-sight like the outposts in Far Cry 2. Better if you have to do something first to rile them up (or their reaction to you depended on your reputation).

i have been following the develpopment of the euphoria project , since NaturalMotion first announced it. I thought that evey game would need to incorporate that engine , otherwise i would never play them^^ Just because i loved the concept of those unscripted motions ,which would push the boundries of replayablility beyond believe , but they pretty much screwed
it up with star wars: The force unleashed >.< by making the player too powerful . But you can really see euphoria shine in Read dead Redemption, they make perfect use of it . The motions and reactions seem so natural ,and i will experiment it to death , with the tools they´ll give you , and those huge environments , again with those unscripted moments , that rockstars S made possible. im super hyped ^^

Looks quite decent. But it's coming out far too close to Just Cause 2 for me. That game is just beyond fun and I don't know if i'll be able to play two open-worldies at the same time. Probably a good thing because it means I get to pay around £20 for it in a few months time ;)

The thing is, it seems if you played the Just Cause 2 demo, then you've pretty much played the whole game. RDR actually seems like it has the makings of a good game through and through, JC2, not so much.

lol, quite a ridiculous comment from someone who obviously has not played the full game or you would not have made that remark.

Well I said "it seems" because I can't say for sure....also because a few people on some different podcasts I listen to have all said the same thing. Regardless, thinking that RDR looks like a much, MUCH better game than JC2 is hardly ridiculous. A couple trailers of RDR have shown more quality and polish than any videos of JC2 have shown as well as the demo...which got fantastically boring quite fast.
