TrackMania 2: Canyon will be out on September 14th, but we were able to play the multiplayer beta and make some gameplay videos. As a reminder, a public multiplayer beta will be available on August 17th for those who preordered the game.
But shit this looks pretty. This remembers me that PC gaming looks so gorgeous. My next PS or Xbox must have this good looking games as Arcade variants. With retail games looking extreme.
Looks great. but i see alot of framedrops here and there - hardly consistent framerate... But when it runs fluid it does look really, really nice. The lighting is pretty darn good.
however, I would not compare this at all with your everyday Forza, Dirt, Grid, GT5 etc. They are just completely different games in a total different genre.
Burnout, Wipeout and Split Second are what I would compare this with... but even compared to those games this looks very hollow.
It certainly looks the part, but I'm really not intriqued. Where are the unique selling points that should get me hooked?

Has multiplayer always been like this? No collisions with other cars I mean.
It's something you can turn on/off - atleast you could in the previous version.

Collisions between cars never existed in TrackMania, and never will, it's not the spirit of the game.
Maybe you've been mistaken by videos well edited to show fake collisions, or another game that is not TrackMania.

As I rendered the videos from the ingame renderer, it's fully 60 frames without any drop, maybe it's from your PC/video player. At first some videos had too heavy bitrate for my GTX 570 and seems stutturing a little, then I lowered the bitrate a bit and it was good, with still a great image quality.
FYI, the ingame video renderer allows to have consistent framerate in the video, only adds reflections to all cars (only on yours during gameplay), and better antialiasing (FXAA during gameplay).
While playing with all settings maxed out, the game looks the same, with the exact same pretty good lighthing.
And don't worry, the game will run smoothly on every computer that could run previous TrackManias.

@Driftwood Awesome! I’m loving it! It does show a much crisper picture and the frame rate looks good! I was playing Stella Blade and Dragonball Soarkling Blast! :) (2 Weeks ago)

This is a PC game, you have to see NFS, Dirt on PC. Actually all console racers looks better than this.

Once I found a cool racing game which I really want to play and it's only for PC...
