Sony has been nice enough to release a demo (actually more like a concept game) of Gran Turismo HD, one day earlier than announced too :) So enjoy this short video showing one lap with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV.
Update: 720p version available.
Update2: Added a replay from the game's attract mode.
Update3: And to finish this night, what better than a lap in a Ferrari?
Update4: Last update with this reversed lap in a Evo IX tuned to the max. Yep, I'm pretty bad in that one.

The tire squealing sounds like retarded ghosts aswell.
thegraphics are ok.
the care engine sounds nice but those tire noises OUCH!!!
maybe its just me but i just think this game is so overated.hope that the final game is better and why cant they just make it so they get damage, its meant to be a car simulator but it dont have damage, also i think it would be good if they made it so u could knock down the fences, makes it that bit more realistic.
just my personal opinions
The demo has a nice feature of online rankings...and you can also replay the the best times in the world. It's pretty cool...
The sound sounds awesome...I've got it going through my Dolby 5.1 system and it sounds awesome...I just wish I could race against other players or other A.I cars.
It's nice for a free demo...
GT5 will have physics, damage, real time weather change, online racing, online B-track racing, online team racing, god knows how many cars/tracks, easier modification etc.
Just please keep in mind before you comment that this is just GT4.5 (if that) and not GT5.
Good driving there BlimBlim though the track seems easy lol
Would have preferred more 3rd Person cam to appreciate the graphics.
its only one track after all!!
But saying that my imported PS3 is now in the UK and due for delivery on the 27th Dec,i would happily cancel xmas to get it on monday, dam bank holidays
I will definitely be downloading the demo the cars look amazing but concidering the track is new the detail is disapointing to say the least, BUT that is not the focus of this game its about the simulation!
The only thing which is sader is that I haven't seen a better looking 3d-backround yet.
I downloaded the HD version of this video, but I didn't have the proper WVC1 codec. I downloaded that one afterwards, but I can't install it, as I use Windows 2000, and not XP.
It seems there's no way to install the codec on my system. So is the HD video available with another codec, or would anyone be so kind to re-enode it? I know that's a lot of work, but it kind of sucks to have this video for XP only.

A couple things of things that should shut up the pessimists and the ones that can't seem to READ:
1) All the upcoming (possible) updates will be free of charge. Just don't expect to have a full blown Gran Turismo HD with 50 tracks (100, if you count the ones you drive backwards) and hundreds of cars... EVER. By the time GT5 is released, GT HD concept might have something like 5-8 tracks, if that, and maybe 50-60 cars at most. They might make GT HD as the testing ground for new stuff that will be in GT5.
2) As some have said already, this is just basically GT4 in its full 1080p glory. It uses the same graphics engine as GT4, with just some improvements that make it look like a next-gen game instead of a upscaled PS2 game.
3) GT5 will have damage modelling. The reason why earlier GTs didn't is the plain fact that PS2 just couldn't handle it. Hell, even Xbox had trouble with it (Forza ran 30fps and the damage modelling wasn't too good). Now that PS3 is many, many, many times more powerful than PS2, they can improve the physics, damage model, AI and, finally, add an online multiplayer. Because GT HD Concept is just an updated GT4, it doesn't have any of the bigger features that will be added into GT5.
So really, stop complaining.

I can't imagine how good the final GT5 is going to be!
Edit: I also fail to understand why people are moaning at the lack of content. This is a free demo. There is no damage model implemented, and there are no other cars on track. For a demo that wipes the floor with Forza 2 in terms of looks, the Forza team are going to have to put in some extra hours. At least this might stop the Xbots harping on about how good Gears looks.

It SHOULD look better.
It SHOULD look better.
The track looks rather unimpressive because the environment and other assets are mainly ripped from GT4...the final game is one or two years away. Forza 2 is out Q1 next year. It doesn't stand a chance.
Can you set the cars to N2 tires with no aids in the demo?
to say that forza 2 looks inferior to this just makes you seem fanboyish. GT5 might wipe the floor with forza2 but this sure doesn't.
