Xbox 360

Disney Interactive Studios have put together a demo for Pure, which just hit the Marketplace and will go online on PSN soon. What a demo! I've never thought four-wheeling could be so fun, but this is some good stuff. Great graphics, great sound, awesome gameplay. You'll see notifications on the screen, "B lost" etc - you do tricks, and then fill the meter in the right corner. The more it's filled, the more advance tricks you can do. We captured gameplay videos for those unable to download the demo, enjoy.

I`ve always been a secret fan of games like this one. I`m not sure what it is with these off-road racers, but they always seem to offer me a great gameplay experience and a total `change` from the norm. As long as the auto-catchup isn`t too bad then it should be fun to say the least!.It also looks the bomb too !.

Eh? I'd say the US is the only place this game will sell well.

It's by the same guys who made the ATV Offroad Fury series so you know they know how to make a good ATV game. I loved it, i'm definitely copping when it comes out.

its good, but i dont like it as jmuch as i thought i would. it does feel a lot like SSX, but for some reason the controls annoy me. they feel too floaty. i was thinking about buying this one, but after the demo i think i'll just rent it for a few weeks instead.

graphically the game is fantastic, but I'm really not sure wether or not I'll like the "do tricks to get boosts" system .. and in the courses shown it seems there is little driving skills involved

well, I'll try the demo when it releases on the PSN

This component rules when it's implemented properly. It should be risk versus reward, like SSX or the early Burnout titles. That's a pretty unique dynamic in an arcade racing game, and while it may not reward driving skills as much as a simulator, or even some more cut and dry arcade racers, it's still rewarding and fun in its own way.

I downloaded it earlier, I'll try it in a bit.

It's already on PSN, sadly not as nice looking at Motorstorm but at least it has tricks i guess.

The usual ones see the need to bring Motorstorm to the table when they see themselves cornered.

Well, they probably are right. This looks better than Motorstorm , wich already strangely looked better than Motorstorn 2, go figure.

i agree! pure looks great, and the vistas are amazing, but overall i just dont like the look of it as much as motorstorm...those black corners are distracting as hell as well...hopefully you can turn them off in the full game.

lol, it's just and aestetical option from the art directors. It's like saying "i wont watch The Matrix because it has this green tint in the image"...

I didn't particularly like the game. It isn't too bad, but the controls are very floaty, it almost feels like the game is playing itself, you barley need to touch the analogue stick to make it around corners perfectly.

it's ok, (Ps3 version) the graphics are ok, not as high res or as sharp Mstorm, I like how they used the motion blur to hide the grass shifting from texture to object it's very convincing. I don't think lt looks as good as I had hoped, there's nothing outstanding in them but all together it looks good.

a few issues I have is that the Atv's have no feeling of weight in the gameworld, I think it's because you don't feel any bumps on the track so I didn't get the feeling I was hanging on for me life, also at times I found I could turn in let go of the stick for 2 seconds and it would still get around the corner wich I didn't like, because I would like to countersteer or something.

As a pure arcade experience though it's good, I won't get it as I don't like ATV but I'm sure it would be fun online or with splitscreen.

soo, now I've played it and it's really nice looking on the PS3 aswell

the boost system works finer than I thought, but the driving part really is too easy for my taste (well half of the time you are flying anyway), as is the demo - the computer enemies are no challenge at all here ( I hope this is just the "easy" mode).

btw my best lap time was 1:37.79

Why do you even compare this to Motorstorm? I can't see much similarities gameplaywise.
The SSX series would be a better comparison, especially SSX Tricky.

^ yea, you're right, this game can't be compared to Motorstorm although people may say "they are both off-road-racers".

Motorstorm is really focused on the driving and battling with enemies, while here it's especially about timing the tricks correctly and enjoying the flight ;) .
