As expected, the new PSSR arrived this week and significantly improves the visuals on a number of games, including those that haven’t been updated—since, much like the Boost feature for PS4 titles, you can force its use by enabling an option in the console’s video settings. As a result, we’re bringing you a comprehensive video showcasing no fewer than twelve different games, with more to come in the coming days if we can find the time to cover them more thoroughly.

They really need to start asking developers to allow switching of quality presets in their games whilst VRR is enabled. There is no reason why Control for example has to run at 30fps with RT on, on a PS5 Pro. Its the main reason why I can't leave my PC for gaming even though I have a PS5 Pro, no games are really optimised at all for it.

@squeek: On PS5 Pro Control is not locked to 30 fps in ray tracing mode anymore. It got a PS5 Pro patch in October last year. You get no stable 60 fps but it stays in the VRR window so you get 50 to 60 fps most of the time.

Hey Gamesyde, what about providing this as a download when your servers are working again? Have you already deleted the file from your SSD?

The first PSSR video yes, and it was pretty big so I would have hesitated to put it up on our servers. Now maybe I would have made the video shorter if the servers hadn't been down, I don't know.

Hey Driftwood, due to Youtube compression it's difficult to judge PSSR 2 in your videos but maybe you can tell me? How do you think the grass and field looks in Star Wars Outlaws. Smeary of fine? And what is your impression in general on PSSR 2?

I never thought we would get a PS5 Pro patch for Control (surprise patch a few months ago) and Cyberpunk 2077 so this is really exciting for PS5 Pro users.

I also wonder if we get a PSSR 2 patch for Star Wars Outlaws. Would be cool but I am not certain if they will do it.
