I wonder if the content for L4D 1 and 2 will be the same or different?

Anyway, Valve puts all other developers and publishers to shame still releasing free extra content for their games.. Shows you it can still be done.. Only excuse for charging for DLC now by most others is pure greed.. Wanting to milk as much money as possible out of a game instead of settling for a nice profit and then keep supporting your games and your fans with free extra content.. Shame they can't do it for free on the Xbox 360 because of greedy dictator Microsoft.. Thankfully nobody owns the PC and it's online, so lets hope Valve never falls for the DLC greed bandwagon on PC like some others have done..

as usual, total bullshit that the same content is charged on one platform free on the other. I hope this steam cloud thing on the ps3 works out because it will really, finally, force mircosofts hand in offering free dlc when it's supposed to be free. And i hope when the ad compaigns come around for portal 2 and the like, sony really push the fact that you'll get more content/support for your purchase.

Also, as evil as MS is.. it removes nothing from the fact that valve know their 360 audience is paying/funding these dlc. There is nothing stopping them from adding something extra to the 360 version if they "dont agree" with the charge.

i use to think valve was pretty good at prices and all that, but im starting to get a bit iffy about their intentions after that whole team fortress 2 PC update they added recently. they are charging actual $20 for an in-game item and other prices depending on an items rarity, $20 being the most. honestly, after that im kinda pissed too about this even though i only have left 4 dead on PC.

After the support TF2 has received this is giving you second thoughts? You can earn all of the Valve crafted items through gameplay anyway. Sure, it's sorta lame, but you don't have to pay for anything, and we're talking about a game that's received over 120 free updates including a fuckton of content. It's a market place, too, and you can sell items on it, no? It's a weird gimmicky thing, but it's hardly a big deal. They've given that game more free support than any game I can possibly think of, and they will continue to. Who cares about a vanity marketplace? You can buy unlocks in Bad Company 2 on the 360 too!

And hell, L4D2 is cheaper than this DLC costs on the Xbox! Woot!

Sure there is, because Valve would release that additional content on the PC for free anyway, and why shouldn't they, if that's their position? Don't like it? Don't buy it. L4D2 is currently less than $7 (you can get both for $10) on Steam. Get that instead. It plays about a billion times better anyway.

I really loved Left 4 Dead initially but then I ran into the team killers and the racists...the team killing was the worst. I clearly remember reaching the finale of one of the campaigns and this guy turned around and tked the entire team, I simply deleted the game from my steam list then. I also bought Left 4 Dead 2 in December last year and have yet to install it :(

If valve released the additional content on PC then it wouldnt qualify it as additional content would it... so that misses the point. Whats stopping them from offering extra for the charged version? nobodys forcing them not to...just as nobody would be forcing them to release that premium content on the pc for free either.

ALso, i dont like it...which is why i've never paid for valves charged dlc on the 360.
