First 10 minutes PS3

Sony showed the way with God of War and Sly Cooper, HD versions of last gen's titles are getting more and more frequent and undoubtedly profitable. It is now Ubisoft's turn to release the old Prince of Persia trilogy and its 720p face lift, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time HD being the first game to have recently been made available as a download title on Playstation Network (for a $15 price). You can then decide to either buy the full collection at your local retailer, or pick up the games you prefer online (Warrior Within and The Two Thrones should be available shortly). We will start with The Sands of Time, so here are the 10 (or rather 15) first minutes of this magical adventure. It may show its age a bit, but it still works nonetheless, like a charm.

Those were the good times.... I hope we can get a continuation to PrinceOP 2008! with all issues that bothered us fixed!

No game, and I mean NO GAME has matched the brilliance of platforming that the POP games offered.

Cant recall where i read it, but round the time the last PoP came out, Ubi said they was working on a sequal to the 08 one.

They said it TFS didn't rule out a sequel to 08, but with the amount of Prince of Persia stuff that was in Assassin's Creed 2, and now even more in Brotherhood, I'm starting to wonder where a PoP actually fits in anymore. That, plus the fact that Desmond is essentially soon a full fledged protagonist of AC would make it downright bizarre to have two wall scaling, platform jumping franchises with a quipping, identical sounding Nolan North as lead.

I mean in Uncharted and AC, I reckon Nolan North is like the Harrison Ford of Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Two franchises by the same pub/dev though? That's a bit extreme.

But granted, the slower, methodical platforming of AC is more akin to that of TFS, and 08 did have a very unique groove to it that they could easily build on. The surreal environments and dream like world of 08 I found truly compelling, running along the OUTSIDE of strange stuctures, jumping and swinging at a steady, almost hypnotic rythm. I loved 08 and there's a lot they can do with it for sure, but I can't deny the overlap that's happening product wise.

AC is becoming the Forza to Prince of Persia's Project Gotham.

Both franchises have different mechanics, so I don't see why a sequel to PoP 08 wouldn't stand out.

Although having Nolan North voice both Desmond and Prince is so weird! It's like, there must be some Nolan North cameo in every Ubisoft game. Next Splinter Cell will have Nolan North be your fugitive friend who helps you off the grid. :D

While I agree with most of what you said, the possibility of it actually being true does make me feel really said.

I still think they can co-exist and be totally different things. PoP doesnt have to go all free world and can be scripted and linear and I would love it to bits! It's the non breakable flow of PoP that I love so much.

I have yet to play brotherhood. THe tombs in AC2 come close to PoP but I still think Prince of Persia'a gameplay is FAR FAR superior in times of enjoyment!

Also, to be frank, I don't care much for Nolan North. Yuri Lowenthal of SoT is just as good!
