Rise and shine, here are the ten first minutes of HL2 Xbox ! The long awaited port finally came in place before the 360's release, but even after a year or more, it still smell like a rush.
As you'll see in the video, the game looks fine, even if the textures have suffered a lot. There's also a bit of aliasing, but it's only cosmetic, small glitches. Because the real pain of Half-Life 2 Xbox, not mentioning the game itself, concerns its whole steamy engine, hardly giving a framerate that throw-out its lungs permanently. Well, maybe not "permanently", but long enough to be worried. It's really strange, because there's also a lot of HDR in the game, and I wonder why Vavle would put such an effect in the game without securing a good framerate. I mean, that's retarded. Anyway, if the slowings don't kill you enthusiasm, be sure the loadings will. I have cut them from the video, but you must know that there are FOUR loadings during the 10 first minutes of the game. This is... impressive.
Now, I'm done with the bad points, let's be sweet on Half-Life 2. So, except what I mentioned earlier, the game is just identical to its original version. The physics are exactly the same, and so are the maps. Finally, my point is: if you can pass these technological problems, you'll enjoy this game. You sure will. But, you must know that you will suffer. Your eyes will suffer. And so will your nerves. Ready to rumble ?
ps: following some requests, I forgot to tell you that the game supports 16/9.

does it have the same physics?

I wonder if when they make game B/C if they are able to upgrade or make the game itself better than when you played it on Xbox, or do they just fix the jaggies and upscale the resolution.
Btw - is it me or does the English Version video link not working?
The Atmosphere and art direction of this game is outstanding, with the best sound effects i have heard in over 15 years of gaming.

Anyway not everyone is going to buy a 360 right away ... so xbox users deserve good games too. I know I'd certainly be pissed if they stopped all development for xbox and just swiftly moved over to 360. I'm a Uni student atm and I cant afford to just adopt the 360 on release as much as I'd love to though.
Lastly of course its going to better on a 360 ........ why even try and make a stupid point like that.

P.S. <3 that wasn't at just you even though I posted a quote from you ...hehe So dont hate me :D
The loadings plus the framerate plus stupid HDR that eat ressources for nothing... I mean, what the fuck ?
And btw, I never said this game should be on 360. What I say is: they should have worked harder on this port. When I see ports like the Dooms, I know that good ports of superb PC games is possible. But hey, Valve is not (and will never be) id.
Yu Suzuki has lately confirmed that Shenmue 3 is not in the works.
Its a shame, but we cant do anything but wait.

It's not that hard to see them in the video either, you get a slight skip (usually in a corridor or before a door, just like in HL) where it'll come up and say loading.
Looks very good to me, I doubt I'll be buying it though with the X360 release so close, but it is surprisingly nice to see psyhics similar to that of Oblivion, on the Xbox. :)
