Xbox 360

Oblivion is one of these games that you have to earn the right to play. With more than 4 months of waiting after the launch, we all earned the right to explore the incredible countryside created for this awesome game!
Oblivion is a game that takes its time to get started, not really by choice but since it's a very complex game it just had to be done that way. So you'll get at least 3 parts for this introduction to the game, all the while following the adventures of Snoopette the body robber.

Playing GRAW and FN3 at the mo, so will probably trade one of these soon for oblivion.

Loved Fable, hated Final fantasy. Which is this more like?

I've always been against fantasy games and RPG's in particular aaaaaand.. I love this game. I've been totally hooked on it for days (playing on PC so it's kept me off my 360 for a week). :|

I hate RPGs, but I love oblivion. It will suck you in. give it a rent, see if you like it.

Its definetly not final fantasy because its not turned based so I guess you can say fable but I wouldn't compare it to that either listen I wasn't at all an rpg fan I'm more a sports shooter type player but I picked it up anyway and man this game is addictive you can play for hours at a time theres so much to do you never run out of things to do I would definetly recommend this game to anyone even if u don't play rpgs

It's not really similar to neither, but if forced to pick one it would be Fable.
You freely control your character in and out of battle. Not like FF when you wait for your attack-turn.

It's not really like Final Fantasy, and It's not really like Fable.
But it's closer to fable than Final Fantasy, because you don't have turned based battles in Oblivion and Fable, but realtime battles.

Oh, wait... has this been mentioned before?;)

Seriously, this game is fun, I've played it for about 12 hours now, and still have only done ONE little quest.
There's just too much to do, and it's just so darn funny:D

This game needs a "First Nine Hours" video, but that would kill everyones bandwidth! ;)

If you rent it, you'll buy it. If you buy it, you'll love it. This is the first true masterpiece of the generation.

I finished the main quest yesterday with my Level 21 Dark Elf Battlemage. I spent about 41 hours total, and also did the Mages and Fighters guild quests. So I made a Wood Elf female Thief/Marksman to do the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild stuff! It's hard to get used to the bow, but it's pretty powerful when you get sneak attacks in.

Everyone should try this game..

finished the game with your lvl 21 Battlemage! My god..you must have rushed throught he main quest? I'm lvl 21 and I haven't even closed the first Oblivion gate! I'm not even half way ready to try and do the main quest..there's entirely too many other things to do first. I think I'm about..maybe 30 hours in?

I'm just about done with the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, and finished the Arena last night as well..I guess that's what I love about this game--it is what you make of it..if you want to rush through the main quest--it's right there from the beginning and it will scale the difficulty level of what you're facing constantly--so the first gate is never too easy or too hard for example..if you go in when you're lvl 20 you'll be facing better enemies with better gear..but that's great, better gear = better loot :)

tonight, after my BF2 is all wrapped up, I'll be finishing the Dark Brotherhood, and buying my first house..and now that i've seen how well a vampire can be played if played correctly, i'm considering making that commitment as well..

Hell, I never finished the main quest line in Morrowind..though I probably will finish it in Oblivion, it's a little more entertaining this time..

when you complete the main quest, can you still go around and do stuff? Im only saying this because im doing all the mini quests first and joining all the guilds. oh and while lots of ppl are here, on the quest where you need to find the knights tears. And you find the guy frozen, what in the hell do you do?

I've been playing the heck out of it and I HATE rpgs... this game on the other hand is so much not a straight rpg that I said what the heck I'll try it (plus I got it for $49, and found $20 on the ground)... I love it, cept for the now crashing 360, which has to be sent back.. not from playing Oblivion since it started 2 days before I picked it up, even did it on the dashboard. But think it got worse when I started playing Oblivion, now I can't go more than 10 mins without a "fuzz fuzz", video screwed up, no response, restart. Sucks cuz it's been going strong for more than 2 months. Oh well, back to the game... get it.

Question: How do you join a guild I can't figure it out, but there is a lot to this game so...

this game is really more like GTA than any other rpg I've played (never played fable).

as far as joining a guild just go to one of the guild halls and talk to the right person, you need to be invited to joni the theifs guild and the dark brotherhood tho.

When is the 2nd and 3rd part going to be posted. I have been off and on with this game, i'm not sure if I'm going to get it but the first part of the intro looked good. thing is i am not into long, slow RPGS, never played morrowmind and besides Zelda I have never liked another RPG.

for all you non rpg guys, what makes this game so good?

When i first see the game in action I really wanted it (I have to buy every game that looks good lol, but because RPG's aren't my sort of thing, I thought I would hate it.. how wrong I was!!. Best game ive ever played I think. The amount of missions you can do is insane. Its great, you never get stuck at a certain point and cannot progress, you can just go do another sideline mission and come back to the main quest.

I think this game would appeal to everybody no matter what genre is their favourite.
