Some claim that Ubisoft's choice of theme in ZombiU is opportunistic at best, but the fact remains that the game is clearly one of the most interesting titles of the line-up of Nintendo's new console. Because it has a strong emphasis on survival and not on action like in Left4Dead, this new IP could surprise us when it launches later this year - provided the Wii U does not miss the holiday season here in Europe. Until then, here is a first developer diary focused on the idea of survival and fear.

The only thing I can see the WiiU controller being necessary for is pushing the code key fast enough. Everything else is just moving hud/inventory elements to the controller screen. Hell, you could do the same thing by putting those elements on the bottom of the screen like in the video...
I agree about they key code/lock pick thing, however I think the idea of looking into your back pack and leaving the screen just like your character is significant too. It makes you vulnerable and will probably create a lot of tension when you hear something coming and you're staring at your supplies instead.
nice artstyle and awesome details (but there'll be so many great masterpieces at WiiU launch, think i don't have time for this)
