PS3

The much awaited LittleBigPlanet is now available in most countries, and it's our friend DjMizuhara who gets the chance to do some videos of the game, with two more to come tomorrow.

Why wont the HQ stream player work for me now, the low quality version works fine. Could one of my spyware/ adware softwares be stopping it from working maybe?

you make what you want, and play what you want...pretty much the best explination i can think of. GOTY for me (and im sure for many other outlets). the games all kinds of awesome. i probably wont even touch the creative side of the game more then once or twice (im lazy). but seeing as people out there are already dishing out awesome levels. i dont even need to.

EDIT: oh, and the music freaking rules. some of the most fitting, infectious music i've heard in a game.

It's not "about" anything. It's a platformer based around creativity and level editing. You can build your own levels or download other peoples' creations. Basically you're just platforming from point A to point B in very unique ways.

Hope that helps!

Don't like the game much the controls are crap and the fact that you have to jump up even a tiny step annoys the hell out of me

Thanks for the information guys.

And although it looks great, physics and all that, I miss something. It looks like a cakewalk and does it really challenge players? I see a lot of people are enjoying this, I guess it won't be my kind of game then. But to each his own.

Edit:

Is the second trailer's content made by a player or is that in the game? Cause if it isn't made by a player it just features listening to music if u ask me....

There is plöenty challenging stuff in the game by the developers and definitely from the players side. I friggin hate that developers 'Collector' level where you have the 'giant wheel of torture the player'.

The GnR song in gameplay video 2 is made by a player. Not really well made, but shows what can be done. The Final Fantasy theme level on the other hand, is a better choice as the notes are hit correctly and it's based around a single instrument, the piano. But it's still just music made with the tools.

Definitely a must buy for a PS3 owner and a must try for others. Easiest thing to do to find out about this game is to read a few reviews. They explain pretty well what this game really is.

Best PS3 game out to date. Tops MGS4 with ease.
Such a fresh idea with so many creative options. Won't be everyones cup of tea but every PS3 owner needs to at least try this.
Not GOTY for me, but certainly comes very close.

Jump will probably be patched eventually, to be tighter.

And in addition to that there are some levels that have challenged MegaMan 9 for me. Well I some, but one specific one, by some grazy dude, it was awesome.

gameplay is very...ehrm....old. And the Idea to build levels and collect the editor-items in singleplayer is also old.

I have "Mega Man Powered Up" for PSP and it's essentially the same game like LBP (upload/download levels via internet, unlock Items for the editor in SP, very cute character design etc).

IMO, LBP is just there to hype the sackboys, nothing more. I dont understand why this game should be a GOTY. It's not innovative or special. It's just a good looking jump & run with a level editor.

I don't know. I gave it a bit of a run( so did my Brother), and neither of us really got into it. I LOVE sackboy though. I also thought the music was good, but it made me want to nap, not play more. It has some appeal with some great personality, but not my kind of game.

It doesn't exactly work that way.... The opposite, actually (in ANY game). Watching somebody "stop-and-pop" in Gears or Gears2 is boring... but playing it is hella fun. Derrr think about it. When you pick up the controller and decide what you want to try or do, it's more fun that streaming some video on the internet. User your noggin'

True to a certain extent, but I think if it really just doesn't appeal to you from the video's, it won't when actually playing it either.

I don't need to eat shit to know I won't like it.

not really. dead space comes to mind as a game that didnt really appeal that much in video's, yet its become my fave shooter this year by quite a large margin. playing games should be the decider, not watching them. especially for a game like LBP where one second you could be playing a standard left to right platformer, and then the next minute your in LBP's take on tetris. the game is too diverse to show it all in a 5 minute video.

I love platformers and LBP is 100% platforming next gen game with old school feeling (could not appeal to many gamers maybe because there isn't fire button:p).

Or maybe because the 2nd-rate platforming and uninteresting(to some people) editor doesn't appeal to them.

Dont own a PS3 and not planning on getting one till it drops to around 300 eur, but this game I'd absolutely love. This combines platforming with nice next-gen physics elements in a great way. Like crushing zombies with a falling car in Half-Life 2, only cuter!
