Loadout Sets Sights on PlayStation®4, Player Base Rockets to 3 Million
Edge of Reality's Violently Hilarious Shooter Gets New Trailer to Celebrate Exclusive Console Release

AUSTIN, Texas - June 5, 2014 - Edge of Reality today announced that Loadout, the fast-paced free-to-play shooter with billions of weapon combinations, will bring every last one of those weapons to the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system in a forthcoming release on the PlayStation®Store. Loadout’s comic violence, frenetic multi-player gameplay, and amazingly deep customization have officially been enjoyed by 3 million PC gamers since launching in January on Steam. The game will be available as a free-to-play downloadable title on the PlayStation®Store, where it will find its way into console gamers’ hearts, and out their backs in glorious exit wounds.

“There are roughly 10 pints of blood in the human body, meaning that with 3 million players, our game is splattered with over 16 million liters of sanguine goodness,” said Rob Cohen, CEO of Edge of Reality. “We’re assuming, of course, that PS4® players have plenty more to offer when they join the fun – both in terms of the camaraderie they’ll bring to our community, and the shiny, slippery organs they’ll litter across our battlefields. We can’t tell you how delighted we are to jump into PlayStation’s free-to-play arena – I mean, boy, are our faces red. With bashful pride, that is, not just blood.”

Loadout is the first original IP from Edge of Reality, an Austin-based independent studio with broad experience in world-class franchises, including Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and The Sims. The studio developed Loadout as a passion project, and today that passion has been shared by over 3 million players, enjoying the over-the-top violence, accessible gameplay, and fast action of Loadout on PC – and, soon, PS4®.

This game is pretty funny. Some very adult themes in the game. It's also pretty nice looking with great controls and responsiveness. It feels like a 3rd person TF2. Unfortunately neither me nor my cousin could have fun with this game. It's one of those games where you can't just jump in and use all your past MP gaming skills to win games. No, people will focking destroy you with their upgraded weapons and gear, which is a huge turn off for me in today's world of shitty MP gaming. I used to love MP in games. Now I have really turned back to the SP experience for anything worth my time. Some of us don't have time to sit there for months, grinding, losing game after game, leveling, paying, gearing up, to finally start hitting the upper 25%. Some of us would just like to use our past gaming skills on even play fields, like the good ol days. Anyway, it's worth checking out if only to see the nutty (pun intended) animations.

Holy shit, these shots are INCREDIBLY doctored. There is straight up painted on lighting, many of the effects have been painted in, etc etc etc.
The game looks pretty sharp, no need to completely lie on screenshots.
I could be wrong but if you look at a few shots it seems incredibly obvious. Take the 7th shot for example. Guy in the Foreground, you can see the strokes in the "lighting" on his chest and stuff. Shot 3, look at the trail on the rocket on the right. It looks nothing like the ingame trails look, and is pretty clearly painted. The last shot before the menu shots, look at the guy on the right up in the air. It's not even very good painting, it's super blatant.

think you need to get an eye sight test as nothing in any of the screens is "painted", just watch videos of the game on youtube that people have uploaded, this video the graphics hardware is nearly 4 years old while the CPU is a 1 year old 6800k AMD APU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kmLNyS0Cl4 running the game on much newer hardware will result in quality resembling what you see in the screenshots, not very often are there games released that look like they do in high res screen shots but this game does look as good as that.

Calling on a youtube video (probably re-re-reencoded) in a question about picture details? And you're the one to question other people's eyesight...
I too think the screens are doctored, the look sometimes just is too different from the video, and the depicted scenes have some artificial "staged" setting to them. Too much is going on sometimes. Like the guy who might be doctored in just to fill an otherwise empty area in the screenshot.

obviously not a PC gamer, if you were you would understand this game would look far better with newer hardware but i guess you can't fix ignorance, all of the video's i upload to youtube are direct capture and either re-encoded to a smaller compression or as the original file, to assume any video is "re-re-reencoded" is a naive call especially when their consistently assuming visuals that look as good as they do here have been altered to look better.

I played the game on PC. It looks sharp, but there are effort CTS in those screenshots that do not exist in the game and you can literally see the brush strokes. I would know, I've painted lighting over screenshots myself, I know what it looks like. Look closely at what I described for strokes, etc. If you can't see it, you need either better eyes or a better screen.
