Xbox 360

The secret Capcom game to be announced today on the Xbox Live Marketplace turned out to be the not so secret Lost Planet 2. But still, no one is going to complain! While waiting for the trailer to encode, here is some captures from the video.
Update: Video is up!
Update 2: Capcom finally announced the game officially, for the moment at least only on Xbox 360. 10 screens inside.

Press release:
Capcom Announces Lost Planet 2 4-player co-op, new interlinked episodes, and deep customization take Lost Planet® to a new level London — February 25, 2009 „o Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Lost Planet® 2 is being developed for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, following an exclusive announcement on Xbox LIVE that happened Monday, February 23. Lost Planet®: Extreme Condition, the landmark third-person shooter that debuted on Xbox 360, went on to sell over 2.2 million units worldwide after its release. This next riveting instalment will offer deeper insight into the world of E.D.N III and the uncertain fate of future mankind.

Lost Planet 2 picks up 10 years since the events of the original adventure and the landscape has evolved dramatically. With the success of terraforming activities, the planet’s ice has begun to melt, giving way to lush tropical jungles and other new environments. The story has advanced beyond Wayne Holden as players will now follow the exploits of their own customized snow pirates on their quest to seize control of E.D.N III. Players will move their heroes through different stories creating a truly unique and interactive experience. With this concept, gamers will have the opportunity to engage in the story in a more dynamic way as plot threads evolve from various perspectives.

The strongest features from the first game will return in Lost Planet 2 making fans feel right at home. In addition to the anchor actions that made the gameplay in Lost Planet a true 3-D experience, Lost Planet 2 allows gamers to gain tactical advantage with a wide variety of new actions. The game will also contain a new addition to the enormous Akrids which were a fan-favourite in the first Lost Planet.

Capcom has spent a considerable amount of time reviewing community feedback and incorporating it into Lost Planet 2 creating a game that both new and returning fans to the series will love. The game takes advantage of Capcom’s most highly advanced software development tool, the MT Framework 2. This is the first game to make use of the new technology that builds on the advancements made in the original MT Framework.

Beyond the deep single player mode, Lost Planet 2 is loaded with one the most extensive multiplayer campaign seen in a shooter to date. The intense and action packed campaign mode comes with the ability to form teams of up to 4 players online to clear mission objectives with friends.

it's annouced as a debut on a marketplace video, it doesn't say plataforms.

Yet the site needs a plataform entry, wich will it be... all? Wii? Or the obvious?

Get a brain moran!

I fail to see the logic in your post. It doesnt' say anywhere that it won't be released for other platforms -I'm sure most of us assume it will most probably be released for both PC and PS3 as well-. They've simply yet to announce those versions.

Anyway, the game looks good but lost planet managed to look pretty great too...so i hope this games is actually fun to play rather than just a frustrating pile of pretty poot, like it's predecessor.

Christ, batten down the hatches. The only icon on this game is a 360 one, so they were essentially saying it's exclusive.

It was a joke, it's only on the 360 marketplace, why put any other icon.

I am not gonna go back on it becuase you all are so defensive. Lighten up, cus if you guys are always that serious, then you must really be 'morans'.

No, they were not. They were simply pointing out the fact that it has only been announced for the 360 YET.

Wonderful selective quoting.

I did say that in my post, stop whining about my comment and just post what you think of the video.

Ehhh.... The original wasn't horrible, just very very repetitive, and the shooting felt sorta "loose" - this doesn't look like a huge leap forward.

Boohoooo Capcom, so this is the title you hyped up ? I was expcting something new :(

Anyway, The game looks good - no denying that. 4 Player Co-op, good as well.
To be honest, the first game was OK but that's about it and looking at this, there is a chance co-op could be very fun. Anyway.... not much excitement from my part.

was hoping for......... onimusha........... :(

Lol. Certainly not unexpected and definitely multiplatform (which nowadays means PS3, 360, and PC) as confirmed by the Famitsu Keiji Infaune slip up. However, due to the marketing deal with Capcom, MS gets first dibs on trailers and demos (ala RE5). Hopefully it is much better than the first especially in terms of pacing.

Good news as I loved the original, but I'd sooner of had something original. As for it being a 360 exclusive, I doubt that very much. Capcom is all about multi plat these days, as they should be. Exclusives are beyond retarded, there purely to fuel fanboy rage and pointless bickering.

SOLD. Never completed the first game (been meaning to get back to it) but it was mainly the multiplayer that i bought it for anyway.
Gfx look impressive, co-op looks impressive, mechs look impressive, can't really ask much more than that.

Well, we should be blaming fanboys for that. Exclusives, IMO, should remain. It's what makes me want to get different consoles. Otherwise what's the point ? it's the fanboys that need to be blamed for the nonesene they spit out about all of this.

I believe each platform holder should invest in having exclusive games. Sony is doing it through 1st party because that's their strongest point. MS, in the other hand, is doing it by striking deals with 3rd party - two different methods. Simple enough - We have to accept it.

I think the source of the problem is the difference between the way Sony and Microsoft are doing it. No one can argue against Sony's approach but everyone goes around slacking MS off for paying 3rd party developers but essentially both are doing the same thing. Investing (i.e. BOTH pouring money) in their consoles to get more exclusive games, hence making them more appealing wether doing that through 1st or 3rd party.
