The wait wasn't long since yesterday's scans to get some high quality versions of the first images of Lost Planet Colonies. Looking good.

One big worry I have about this, besides the fact that it's Lost Planet 1.3 at retail : Does Capcom really expect people to buy a full new game and come back to the multiplayer (which has been basically 100% abandoned) just for a few new features?

You think they've just stared this? Capcom, Konami and Square have been doing this "re-release with extra features" for years. It hasn't failed them so far, the fans eat it up.

What I'm saying is it sounds like most of the content is for the MP side of the game, which very few will return to.

It's just a normal Platinum Hits release. Nothing special, really.

But instead of just printing a different cover for the game, they actually put extra content on the disk. The price tag is the same like other Platinum Hits.

I don't understand the anger. If they had released the extra content as DLC, people would have flamed them as greedy. Now that the content is free for the new version, it's also bad.

Think about how the owners of the original game feel, then you'll understand why they feel that way.

Yep. Capcom has milked the same game twice in one year. A port to the PS3 and a re-release on the 360 and PC. Jeez Capcom.

My advice. Don't try to. It'll only ache the brain. :P

I really enjoyed LP, But I won't be buying this. I'm not really too bothered about the extra content.

If I didn't own/play LP, then this would be fantastic news.

Would like to see something about -the inevitable- Lost Planet 2.

Hmmm... The desert environments look way too much like the snow environments with a new texture over top... They need to work on that...

Its sorta like when Epic put Gears on the PC only with a much longer campaign... They should have put the new stuff as DLC for those who already have it. There would still be whiners, but there would be a lot less of them, and they wouldn't have as good a reason... Making the bonus stuff as DLC as well as having it already with the new version would have been a much sounder decision.

Great. I love Lost Planet.

This game is some kind of remake. Same story, but new missions, VSs, wepaons, new multiplayer chars, etc.

Nice nice.

Actually, no new missions. You get new modes to play, like a Time Challenge for Single Player, but otherwise the single player levels, assets, etc are exactly the same. The focus seems to be on multiplayer this go around.

Just a reminder that you're judging a two year old game that isn't a graphical remake.

I didn't buy the original LP, but I've been thinking about getting it for a while.

This means I'll get the definitive version!
