Map Packs for Lost Planet announced

Capcom has announced that a bunch of map packs will be released on the Marketplace for Lost Planet in the upcoming months. The first one will be released on March 9th, for a price of 400p. It will contain two maps, Radar Field and Island 902, and the Collector's Edition exclusive map Battleground will be free for all to download a bit later. First images inside.

No deal for me. I mean 400MP is way too much for only two maps seriously.

Yeah, it's a bit much--but atleast they look awesome. The first screenshot is awesome. I do think it's a bit expensive though--especially after getting two free maps out of Gears already. It almost seems like the less successful a product is--the more the addon content winds up costing--which isn't very customer friendly if you ask me.

Still looks great. Haven't had a chance to play this yet, hope to soon.

Just so you people know that are thinking of buying LP or have it...this is the last character skin you unlock on level 75 which I didnt. Its Rick, Lukas brother.

The patch will also come with the first map pack.

The last char is NO story char. Its a cross between Ivan (the doctor) and Rick (cuz of the goggles).

But you CANT UNLOCK ANY STORY CHARS in this game for the multiplayer. I'm Level 82 and thats why I can tell this for sure.

Btw, charging for just a few extra MP maps is stupid imho.. Every game should do it like Epic's gears of War, free extra maps..

Shame this game is impossible to play after a couple of beers.

Everything becomes a spawn-camping headshot fest, so I will prolly skip these.

The underwater map looks sweet. Reminds me of Armored Core and Gundam.

Why does it say "Hero" then ahahaha. Neither Ivan or Rick is the hero so why are the title called hero for the character skin.

BS, because on PC these kind of things have been free forever, and you get plenty of quality maps there.. Sure, also plenty of crap, but that doesn't matter at all..

They only charge for it on consoles because there's no competition from free community created content.. You're basicly at the mercy of the greed of publishers and developers on the consoles because the only choice you have is pay for extra maps or don't get anything.. And we all know plenty of people are weak and will want the extra stuff and therefor will pay.. I can yell forever people should not buy into microtransactions like this, but I fear it's all futile.. Things will slowly only get worse, they'll just keep pushing the boundries furter and further aslong as enough people will continue to pay.. In 5-10 years time most consolegamers will think it's normal to pay 5-10 bucks per extra map or something..

It's the biggest disadvantage of having a closed online system imho..
