Capcom has unveiled during the New York ComicCon four new characters of Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, that are: Spencer, Modok, Magneto and Arthur. Trailers and screenshots inside.
Wish they hadn't gone with that Spencer design. I've just recently tried playing the new bionic commando.. it's terrible. I dont want to be reminded of it as i play this.
I actually really enjoyed the new BC. It had a slew of technical problems, but I think it's a really rewarding game when you get into it.
It sold really poorly though and was universally deemed a failure, so it's interesting that they're using that design and not the BCR one.
BC ends on a cliffhanger, so it was clearly set up to get a sequel. With GRIN gone, they're not doing it, but "Dread" Spencer being in this sorta kinda suggests to me that they may give it another go under a different developer.
Have to agree with SimonM7 on Bionic Commando. It's a great game, with an innovative control scheme and the swining is a lot of fun, once you get into it. It's really a shame that it was a flop concerning the sales but it's no wonder considering the nonexistent marketing right before the release and the whiny reviews of incompetent testers who were simply overchallenged by the swinging.
Nice to see, that capcom didn't totally abandon this reimagining of the franchise by putting the new Spencer in, though i too like the Shinkiro version the best. It's just that this is a nice message.
Cheap in a bad sense and way too many stupid kiddie characters. Magneto used to be badass in MvC2, now he's... Well... Not badass anymore. Wish they sticked to 2d but redone all sprites. Too much work, huh...
Me and my mate beat it on SNES back in the day, but when it asked us to go through it all again with the medallion we pretty much set the cart on fire.

Yeah, I was referring to Super Ghouls n Ghosts on the snes, which is just plain torture. Not sure if that was the same game but if it is? You're a better man than me.

You generate electricity using magnets. Purple fire? I'm not so sure about.
If you watch the trailer for the old Xmen arcade game getting re-released you'll see they've always depicted Magneto with powers like that.
In the comics however it's much more understated.
Magnetism powers really leaves a lot up for interpretation it seems.

SGnG was a different but similar game; a bit harder than the first Ghouls n Ghosts I would say.
It's interesting that the one of the main things that killed me in SGnG was the ill timed slowdown, but it was also more difficult outright, e.g enemy placement and level design.
The second playthrough in the original GnG wasn't as bad as the first playthrough because you are required to use the ultimate weapon thing on the last boss, which is almost impossible to find throughout the world if you lose it right away, so you pretty much have to do the whole second playthrough with it.
With that in mind, the hardest part of the second playthrough of the original Ghouls n Ghosts is making sure not to pick up another weapon.
Never even got through one playthrough on SGnG, so I can't comment much, but these days I can't seem to get anywhere without savestates, lol.
(not sure if that is my impatience, or I'm just too awesome)

Magneto looks kinda like a pansy compared to his MVC2 character model though.

Magneto's Level 3 Hyper is f'n awesome.

It's Capcom fanservice, they're sticking guys in that evoke nostalgia. The last people who'd dig Arthur being in there are kids.
They also don't come any more badass than MODOK (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) :p

So there was at least one kid that could handle it :)
