Just how good does this game look? The screens are all in-game too, so it's not bullshottery either. Easily one of the best looking games this gen. Stands up to most on any platform.

Between Darksiders, Bayonetta, and this, this first month of 2010 has been pretty insane. This year really is shaping up to be something special.

ME2 looks like a sure fire GOTY contender from everything I've seen so far. With all the bugs fixed from the first game, this should be a masterpiece.

Can't imagine the rig needed to run this - minimum quad core and a DX11 card?

a dx11 card minimum? No way. dx10 will be fine, though a good one ;)

I recall the last ME on pc required you to force AA on nvidia card. Since it did not employ it by default. When I found out, it was night and day. ME1 ran with x16 AA smoothly for me so hoping more of the same.

Looks great on the 360 code too.

God, I hope so too. One thing we need is more complaining and fanboyism in the forum.....oh wait. I'm a PS3 owner, but I would trade GOW3 for this in a heartbeat. Way to many linear hack n' slash games lately.

An 8800 and a decent dual-core is all you needed for the first one, which you can get for dirt cheap these days. I can't imagine this one needs much more.

Bioware could've used some help from Guerilla Games when it comes to lighting although it's highly improbable since it also has to run on the lower spec'd 360. Still, the graphics off the PC look quite average. Of course, this is not a FPS game so pretty graphics is pretty low in hierarchy of things.

The problem with Mass Effects engine is that it looks mad gamey. It's pretty much screaming in your face that it's a game.
Also it looks way better in motion.

Pre-ordered this for my PC.

Gotta love multiplatform console games though. They usually set the system requirements for the PC version of the game pretty low so that usual upgrade cycle has been delayed for PC gamers. That said, there are some negatives (MW2 and its unoptimized bullshit framerate drops in random places in the PC version).

Exactly, if it can run it on a 360, you should be able to run it on such a rig (assuming the PC version isn't a half assed port).

Sometimes you read comments on the internet that make you want to headbutt a pitchfork. This is one such comment. Gamey? Of course it looks like a fucking game because it is a game. Nothing is ultra, photo-realistic in this day and age yet. This game, visually, matches anything that I've seen so far on these consoles, give or take a few fancy effects here and there. This holds its own, it looks that good. Artistically, it's a technical wonder.

Avatar is the closest thing you can get to cg realism. Now imagine when WETA does the Hobbit. Gonna be ridic.

Anyways. Mass Effect is a crack addiction that will only continue in number 2. I'm glad I waited to play the first so I didn't have to go into withdrawals.
