Microsoft just released a new video of Mass Effect, showing the combat class soldier. All the footage in this video is gameplay and directly from the game, Microsoft says.

the frame rate seems quite solid and graphics are really good. not sure what happened with those screens that were released recently, they certainly made the game look like crap but this video should shut people up

iot's the soldier class jolli so I presume it's all about the guns but there are other classes so I am sure there's much satisfaction to be had.
In motion this game look so good and i love the way you can play in real time or pause assign out command and execute suit players of all tastes really
The game looks awesome in any way, and will probably be GOTY for sure. But seriously, the combat looks really underwhelmed and do I dare to say boring compared to the competition in the action genre.
Doesn't really matter though, this game will be GOTY either way.

It's not crap, it's actually pretty well done and that is the solider class. Probably a bit too action RPG from your point of view maybe. It's not all run and gun stuff but I can see why you might not like it.
Looks wicked, how exactly does the combat look crappy or boring? Hes got a team swarming around him and he took out 4 enemys while using 3 different weapons. and this was just some cooridoor that he was fighting on not like a boss fight or something just some runts......
No you dont need to lock on, but it has the ability to focus and lock on if you give it a few seconds letting it hit more accurately.
You guys also seem to miss the fact that this isnt an FPS, it's an RPGFPS... in another words its not supposed to crush halo or gears of war in it's FPS side but from what i've seen from this and other videos is that this game holds its own especially against titles like GRAW/GRAW2 which says a lot! Add to that a galaxy to explore and traverse and the entire RPG aspect of the game and different classifications and you see why it's going to be GOTY.

Thats the good thing with Mass Effect. You can either play it like a third person shooter like GRAW or just pause the gameplay anytime and go for a more stradegic and tactical approach.
I for one will mostly play it like GRAW, but when I see I need more tactics I will pause it, and I am sure there will be times EVERYONE will use that system as well.
This game is really a mixed bag for me.Presentation, graphics, character models etc all look top notch, no problems there.Voice acting, combat and (what it seems like) variating framerate in combat hurt this game.
The combat doesnt look polished and dare i say ... clunky?Also the main character models in combat look stiff.Seriously lacking animation.
I guess these (for me) weak points are all the more irritating because the other areas of the game are so polished.
