Rockstar Games shares some new screenshots of Max Payne 3 that introduce the Arcade mode. The latter will allow players to replay beaten chapters in two ways: Score Attack and New York Minute. The first one awards players with points that are evaluated by the types of kills and shots. The second one starts with a 1 minute countdown, each kills and headshots add time to the clock.

3 hours for the first one? Are you kidding me? It's been years and years since I played it, but come on... It took forever just do do the level where you're wandering around in those hallways where you can hear the baby crying

They've been showing a ton of screen shots for this game, but they all just look the same to me. I'm not getting any more excited.

What is it with games these days tacking on arcade modes? Just put full effort into single player story and online.

That's not how game development works.

Disagreed. Not even gonna explain, just actually think about what you're advocating here...

It's an ode to the original games, which also had a 'New York Minute' mode. Nonetheless, some of the game is actually set in NY.

Jeez, I have to go to an arcade to play this mode?! Do those even exist?

First, I have to buy real endings as DLC, but now I have to go somewhere outside to play just one mode of a game?!

j/k

Agreed, although I couldn't be much more excited than I am. Screens do this game NO justice. In motion on the other hand, it's a thing of beauty. The destruction, physics, and damage models are some of the best out there. Plus, they actually use color in this game!

This seems to be one of the few shooters that actually pays attention to what you are doing.........shooting. Shooting people and objects should cause a reaction with everything, and in MP3 it does.
