Rockstar has finally decided to release the first screenshots of Max Payne 3. We had already seen these pictures in ugly scans, so it is a pleasure to rediscover them in a decent quality. The third episode of the adventures of the most depressed cop in the history of video games is developed by Rockstar Vancouver (Bully), which raises some concerns about the fact that the series might head too far from its roots. However, the creators of GTA have rarely disappointed us so far, so let's keep faith for now.

time will tell i guess.
Vegetation looks better than Crysis Warhead, Uncharted 2 or RE5.

I loved the atmosphere of the first and whilst I wouldn't want a carbon copy of the previous games, a part of me thinks they may have gone too far.
BUT, It does look great and I'm pretty confident it will be a good game. Plus I'm interested to see where they take Max.
So until I see the final game I'm going to try to keep my mind open.
I'm somewhat cynical, no idea how they hope to get the Max Payne vibe in this scenario. Are Remedy playing any part at all in this?
It also looks a bit too much like Kane and Lynch...maybe because of the scars and the psychopath look on his face.
As for the gameplay; where could they go with this? The first two games were great TPS's and had nice gunplay from what I can remember...
Hopefully they won't just go with the remedial shooter conventions of just adding in cover based shootouts and whatnot. Meh... Maybe this franchise doesn't need a reboot. But hey, if they polish it enough to be a standout and make the storytelling appealing then it might be worth a rent at least.
Regardless of how good this game is I still won't feel that Max Payne 2 ever actually got a sequel, and then what's the bloody point of calling this Max Payne in the first place?
doesn't look very appealing
*sob :(
