This new model looks nothing like the old one. I`m not sure why the hell these devs continue to `mess around` with the ingame character faces, but, like Sam Fisher, he`ll end up looking stupid due to nobody knowing what the hell the main protagonist is meant to truly look like.

I like the old Max tbh.

I definately like how this is looking so far, while I love the old Max games I did not like the characcter's look personally.
I will more than likely buy this on release day.

Which is old max? MP1 max? Or MP2? His face has changed with each sequel, it's not like he's an iconic looking protagonist with a set-in-stone appearence. At least R* kept the voice and general look of MP2's Max. Which to be fair, is more consistency then remedy achieved.

Could be a day one for me, looks awesome.

The redesign of Max Payne is probably more compatible with the precious Dudebro demographic. I'm not totally convinced yet but at least we get to play as bald character which is an interesting novelty.

I don't have a problem with the way he looks. They wanted to emphasize how much he has gone through, and making him bald and overweight sure does that. People will complain no matter what they do so whatever.

By the way, this game looks WAY too Brazilian-ized.

You have clearly forgotten how much his face changed between MP1 and 2. Or maybe you haven't even played the first one.

I wouldnt mind if they had kept his looks from the second one though. Sure he might look the part in one chapter or some flashback, but it feels like he will be bald and fat in South America for the majority of the game.

What does that even mean? It takes place in Brazil.

If they ever make a sequel to or remake the Max Payne movie they should cast the lead actor from 11-11-11. He looks EXACTLY like Max Payne and even sounds a bit like him, just not as husky. I also think he'd be great as Batman.

Im not sure how long after the last MP this game is, but I like how they changed his face and style. In first MP he was handsome cool cop with nice wife and the whole career ahead of him. Then everything fu*ked up and I can imagine, that one can end like this, with all those memories and experiences. You know....everyone gets old, even the game character.

DUDE, THAT IS MAX PAYNE 2's REAL LIFE ACTOR! Timothy Gibbs was used for the character model of Max in the graphic novel cutscenes.

Good catch! :D

Well that explains it then, lol! Why didn't they cast him in the movie? The studio could have saved themselves loads of money since although he was pretty good in 11-11-11 he's obviously not an A-list actor. (Well, I've never seen him in anything else I don't think, except the Max Payne 2 game now that I know.)

Yeah I admit that his features did indeed change from the first to the second. The first game made him look like he was squeezing out a fart lol, but the sequel was a lot better.

it goes; character models

max payne: sam lake (used writer because of budget ristriction)
max payne 2: timothy gibbs (actor)

max payne 3: rockstar decided to give james mccafrey a full acting role (hes been the voice of max payne since 1)

the model is still very close to MP2 tho.

even the artwork used his face as direct reference.

at least there is consistency there between 2 and 3. unlike 1 and 2

I hate when devs uses real actors voice and faces in a game, I dont know why they just dont make a original face and then get a good voice over, even if it was a famous actor.
