Awesome. I love how real they made him look. No fancy cuts and big muscles everywhere. Just an ordinary guy with extraordinary skills to kill.

I never really liked this series, sure the bullet time stuff was cool but I think it was much better in F.E.A.R.

Now that a new studio is developing this, I have zero hope for it. I might buy it for $10 during the December 2012 steam sale but otherwise yawn....

You make very little sense a lot of the time.

Surely if you didnt like the series in the past, the idea of a new developer taking the raigns would peak your interest? Not kill any chance of you enjoying it. It's like me and halo, i'm not a fan of the past games at all, so the idea of a new studio taking control boosts my interest since there is a chance it could be fundamentally different enough to get me on board.

Anywho, it's looking like an amazing cover based shooter. Make the character weigh less then a bus and it'll be a day one buy.

Problem with this series

-Crap story
-Zero gameplay diversity, shoot million dudes in a room repeat x 50 times (Shit I swear I lost 100,000 million brain cells by the time I finished Max Payne 1)
-Forgettable characters, this ain't no Uncharted that's for sure
-Awful, dream sequences
-There are no puzzles, no quiet moments, nothing to break the shooting

Also the AI is total crap so this isn't a challenging series at all...the ai is easy to break due to the slow motion mechanic

The comparisons to FEAR is hilarious since w/out Max payne, FEAR would be a generic shooter. Also, comparing characters to Uncharted is dumb bec uncharted characters are as generic and predictable as the movies it rips from while Mona Sax, Max Payne, Vlad are far more complex characters and their relationships. With all the twists, plot structure, random enemy dialogue, thick noir monologues, and hilarious extras like the tv shows, I have a hard time thinking its a crap story. You have to admit there's an identity there, which is why people are worried with Sam Lake not being involved.

i'd agree with the forgattable characters point, this certainly isnt no uncharted, but his other points are just way off the mark.

the characters certainly have no grounded identity tho. hell, why do you think max himself has changed so drastically between each game. it's just like cole mcgrath from infamous. he's a shell character, but then that's all he needs to be. angsty dude kills lots of dudes. that's all i want from a max payne game personally.

The characters are far less forgettable than those in Uncharted, who in my opinion are simply crafted from old Hollywood clichés.

Keep drinking the cool aid son...

Both Max Payne games had a forgettable stories and characters with 1 facial expression. And without Max Payne FEAR would be generic haha? your arguments are pathetic, as if Max Payne invented bullet time *Insert massive eye roll here*

Allan Wake is a much better IP than Max Payne ever was, good thing Remedy abandoned it otherwise they would be dead today

Max Payne is the very first videogame to use bullet time as we know it in games today. How do you not know this?

Nothing else to drink since you've polished off the haterade.

Max Payne was great...the first one at least. Gameplay was unique and satisfying, story was interesting, and the noir writing was awesome.

Not really looking forward to this one yet...hopefully see more stuff to pique my interest.

you talk alot of poop, the old max payne games were great maybe they just wasn't to your liking

and max payne made remedy what they are today so i dont get where you got all that alan wake bullshit from, i bet if you asked them if they only ever got to make one of the two games they would pick max

Okay...

1. Max Payne introduced bullet time to games; you must be pretty out of the loop not to know that.
2. Thinking Alan Wake is a better IP is your opinion - I kinda agree in some respects - but you're a bit (well, a lot) of an idiot to suggest that Remedy would be dead if they hadn't 'abandoned' Max Payne. If Max Payne had never existed then you would never have seen Alan Wake; that series is what made Remedy known in the first place.

We get it, you hate Max Payne. Chill out.

I loved the first Max Payne, he had 1 awesome facial expression :D and thats all he needed, you do know how old that game is right? your slamming it for face detail? (looks at other games in the same time frame) *rolls eyes*
2nd game where enjoyable was such a huge let down for me, but maybe thats more my fault for hyping it too much.. same as halo 2 :(

This game.. hmm i want it to be great but all i can see is some dodgy kane and lynch game

Yeah i advise you drink some cool aid dude, because what ever your drinking seems to be having adverse effects on your judgment.

I enjoyed the mechanics of the first. Hated the story. In fact I hated the story so much I didn't play any of the sequels to it.

Let's hope they release a demo prior to launch...
