Bioware did a couple of screenshots and a wallpaper of Mass Effect 2, showing the character Thane. The game is set for a release early next year.

The level of detail on the character models are ridiculous!! Best i've seen in a console game, even better than RE5, it looks amazing!

lol the whole texture budget is in the character model look at the environment. reminds me of mgs4 lol.

Or they just left the game running for 5 seconds so the textures could load, although I'm pretty sure they said the first thing they solved for ME2 was the texture popin.

Also, so pumped for this game.

The level of detail on the alien character looks great, but the detail on the Human character looks very very bad and the environment texture in the forth pic looks horrible. Still Uncharted 2 and Rage have the best Human details models and animation in my opinion and the best looking environment.

i cant get excited about this for some reason, even though i loved the first one to death....maybe it's becasue its too far away...i'm sure once uncharted 2 has been and gone then i'll shift my attention to this.

Did they confirm before this that Thane would be a possible party member? – Otherwise these screens are somewhat a big spoiler.
Impressive none the less, first day pick up. I love the first one.

Mass effect with improvements.. how could that possible not get GOTY in 2010? Most definatly the best looking console game on the horizon in my eyes.

Got to agree, and this is an RPG so it will really help suck you more into the experience, i'm brimging my character over from ME1 i hope looks even better too.

I too, see more of a fish resemblance than a lizard's. But anyway the game looks very pretty. Getting 360 version because my PC can't handle it :(
