Seems like part of the beginning of this game you'll be playing as White Raiden (MGS4 exoskeleton).

Meh graphics, but as long as ameplay as in combat, animations, moves, combos, replayvalue...etc. is great thats all I care for.

I have hopes for MG Rising.

This looks like something from a previous generation. Those graphics are really bad. I mean, is this the best they could do or is the budget so low?
I have no idea about the gameplay, because there isn't much footage out there.

What happened since 2010? It looked so good.

Graphics are not great but apperently the game is 60fps...i'd take that with every console game tbh.

I want my games to look like movies and somehow 60fps is too smooth...

I know it sounds stupid, but thats how it is.

60fps is to smooth for movies, making them look like they were shot on video. For games i think it depends on the genre. The norm has been that 1vs1 games, like tekken and virtua fighter always are 60fps because it's critical to gameplay because of the twitch reaction needed. Looking at ninja gaiden and bayonetta, the same can be said about that genre to. Just look how Castlevania Lords of Shadow's combat turned out. Promising system let down by low framerate, making it imprecise.

In 2010 it was merely a tech demo by Konami internal. Their team was floundering and the game was almost cancelled, until they partnered with Platinum. If it weren't Platinum and their 60fps, we wouldn't be getting this game, at all.

Charm? What do you mean charm? The game looks fine and remember the game is a 60fps game where you can cut anything so graphics will take a hit. But from what I've seen in videos the animations look great and the game is really fluid looking. I think when we get our hands on the game and see all the crazy stuff happening all at once in 60fps it will blow your mind.

Don't forget Devil May Cry (the original DMC, not the 30fps DmC)

I really don't know what you people are moaning about, it looks fine. Plus the graphics don't make the game, the gameplay makes the game and I'd take a smooth 60fps with kick ass gameplay than a really awesome looking game graphically but with crappy combat and and a rubbish response time for button input.

a thought just came to me there, I feel moaning about graphics like say.... being able to go weedly weedly wee on the guitar, just pure technical shredding and wankery but if there's no structure behind it you're left thinking ".....yea man thats awesome and all, but where's the tune? Where's the melody? Where's the soul?" you get what I'm saying?

Sure. I mean heck, you've struck a chord (pun), as I have a deep appreciation for shredding.

On the other hand, we're observing static screenshots in this scenario, and in the best case, video. There's a limit to what people are going to discuss given the subject matter. It's not like anyone here has played this. And frankly, a lot of people care more about graphics. Ya know, fancy shaders and whatnot. Presentation seems to matter to a lot of people. "Cinematic" is a buzzword that I am so entirely sick of hearing, but to some, it actually matters.

I mostly agree. I put gameplay very far ahead of graphics. And I probably put both ahead of plot.

yea I see what you're saying on the screenshots and I definitely agree with your last point, gameplay before graphics AND plot which seems to be the problem with DmC I think.

Ninja Theory seem too intent in "lets stereotype that guy!" or "I (Tameem) will a story to change worldwide view on video games as storytelling media!" when that was never the main forefront of DMC to begin with, it was about kick ass gameplay and having some cool cutscenes here and there that didn't take itself at all seriously. I seriously wonder how they (NT) got the job to begin with (outside of storytelling) as action games are not really their strong point when you compare them to the likes of P+ Games.

Not that I am saying NT's games are terrible, I thought Heavenly Sword was good, I haven't played Enslaved though, but I just don't think they can put out something that will stand with the old games and the fact the framerate has been cut in half because they are working from the Unreal Engine doesn't really help. I get that its a reboot and all but surely when you are removing everything that came before you don't scrap the level of quality in gameplay too.

It will probably be a good action game I don't deny that, it but will probably a come off as a poor man's Devil May Cry like most western hack n slash games...... sorry for ranting abit there, that game does that too me sometimes hahaha

Also I like a good bit of shredding myself (e.g. DragonForce or Yngwie Malmsteen) but as I said sometimes you just have to say "stop showing off and play an actual song!" haha

hopefully as well the balance of gameplay and plot should be just right for Rising as P+ are doing gameplay (the thing they do best) and KojiPro are doing the story (the thing they do best) and the fact they are both in the same country and can meet frequently without too much trouble and no "3 or 4 times in a month" like NT/Capcom's DmC (not exactly what I would call a strong collaboration).

Platinum games have been one of the few companies that can put together masterful Japanese action game. the e3 demos look pretty good, so I expect great gameplay from this treat. Something tells me that this will be the best action effort for next year. After Bayonetta and Vanquish, I think this will complete the holy trinity in Platinum's arsenal.

I think they are going for framerate, like Call of Duty, which certainly looks like shit next to the likes of Gears of War or Uncharted. Feels a whole fuckin hell of a lot better though.
PS: I went to PAX this weekend and everyone I've talked to loved the demo of the game. Said it was really fun. Take that for what you will, I guess.

I heard someone saying about Blade Mode as it is right now (in the demo) it seems overpowered but thats idea. You see what they were aiming for with it is to have people mess about with it and have fun cutting things and enemies up with it but when the game is complete it will be more balanced.

Also expect not only a new trailer at TGS this September but also a new demo.
