THQ offers 13 minutes of pre-alpha footage from Metro: Last Light. The sequence shows Artyom and Pavel, a Red Line officer, attempting to cross the hostile surface in order to reach the safety of The Theatre, the legendary station city.
Artistically and atmospherically this looks fantastic. But narratively I am not at all interested. In fact monsters and the super natural is almost always a turn off for me.
Also it looks as painfully linear as "every" other shooter out there.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. comes to mind like after 30 seconds viewing this video, it feels like it and reminds of it with up to date graphics. I'm not sure I wanna play the same game again though (minus the RPG elements).
While I'm not the biggest fan of its tight linear design, that shadow moment scared the shit out of me. Reminded me of X Files with that radioactive shadow ep.
