Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released in the next few days everywhere in the world, so it's both with joy and a bit of sadness that we just uploaded this launch trailer of the game. Joy because we finally get to play it, sadness because this will probably be the last HQ 60 fps trailer of a MGS game that Kojima has been involved with.

This is bitter sweet because this Hideo Kojima's final trailer for The Phantom Pain. I darn say, his trailers for this game has not only been his very best, but they are among the very best trailers I've ever seen for any game! Let me close by saying, the scene with Big Boss walking is a SYMBOLIC scene. It's not to be taken as an literal spoiler. Folks who know the story of Big Boss knows full well what I'm hinting at....besides, Big Boss only has one eye! (another obvious hint)

PS...Kojima, thank you for enriching my world by allowing me to lose hours in the world you created with Metal Gear Solid. I love you for it!

that scene isn't a literal spoiler, true. and you're assuming you're even playing as big boss!

showing the final boss of the game however, is a spoiler. why they tagged on penis gun metal gear to the end of the trailer is beyond me.

tbh, REX has a penis gun too, but i guess the more anthropomorphic design of this new metal gear make it looks far more phallic. lol

Make sure to get all the shitty Metal Gear Solids out of the way before MGSV, then play MGSV, and finally save the best until last and end it correctly with MGS2: Sons of Liberty.

Im so torn between buying this or not. Really enjoyed GZ but then read a lot of negatives on here about PP so cancelled my preorder.. but now ive seen this trailer i want it again ffs..

As long as you like and are familiar with Metal Gear Solid, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

So far a lot of the concerns I have seen on here have been nitpicks, I'm not even a strong advocate for Metal Gear Solid myself, heck I think most of the series is just ok, but I still want this game.

I mean, it's Kojima's swansong, the fact that it is the last Metal Gear Solid made by the original creator is enough to merit a purchase as you'll never get a Metal Gear Solid like this ever again.

This has just reminded me to pre-order Fallout to support Bethesda. :D

heehee...their has definitely been theories about that. I'll find out when I'm able to play it. Fate has it, I have jury duty on the game's launch date. Hopefully I won't get picked. Right now I'm enjoying the hell out of Until Dawn! That game is meant to be played at night! ^_^

wow, i did not know that. I have actually a love/hate thing going on with the original MGS theme song. I often hear a similar tune of the first 30 seconds in prime time news. the first 30 seconds of MGS's theme song can very well fit ANY news casting channel.

i always liked the more electronic version in the first MGS. it's a shame it was ripped off though. for me it's a pretty iconic theme. they should have coughed up and payed royalties and paid to use their rendition of it.
