Xbox 360

In this video Michael Ironside talks about his role as the voice of Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell: Double Agent. I guess it gives some insight into the changes that occured to Sam in this new game.
Update: Added a second interview video, this time about gamers.

Isn't the releasedate next week...?!?

I believe it was anounced on the Ubi forums that they have a releasedate of the 19th (Europe at least).

Michael Ironside is the consummate badass.

Also did he say "this last game"? I knew Sam Fisher wouldn't be the focus of the series forever but I hope Ironside stays on as a support character alongside Lambert.

He says 'this last game' as in, this most recent game, or the game we have just been working on etc... means nothing in terms of this being the last splinter cell or anything, he also said 'WE' and not 'I', also pointing to himnot thinking of leaving anytime soon. Why would he, the series is very successful.

And it would definitely suck if it were the last SC game, considering the sequel to this one is going to be 360 exclusive.

Yeah, it's "last game" as in latest. Sam's not going anywhere. They reported in a magazine leading up to this game's release that they've locked Sam's age down to 48, and he'll be frozen in time, so to speak, in the future. Considering he does have a birth date and the games usually state when they take place, that's rather odd, but it does cement the fact that they want to take Sam and run with him.

So no worries, they won't pull a Raiden on us.

Oh cool, it was just the way he said it that got me worried.

So as long as Ironside wants to do it, he'll be the star of the game. I don't want any James Bond shit where we get Heath Ledger or Jake bloody Gylenhall replacing him.

awesome.

so what if the first SC and Chaos Theory were made by a different team, the team making SC5. so what if they were award winning titles and pandora tomorrow wasnt. pandora was a solid game and im pretty sure this one will be too. ill get it, but if youre not sure, then hold out till SC5. it will be SO much better. pandora was a filler title in the series and so is this one. same dev team. no big deal i guess, but i wont be expecting an award winning title until SC5 personally.

surprise me UBI! im buying

Yes SC5 will be amazing but double agent is no filler, it brings with it some big steps for the Splinter Cell series including the development of Sams character. It's the greater level of creativity in Pandora Tomorrow which lead to this evolution of the series.

oh i dont doubt the creativity of pandora tomorrow and its team. its a great game. in fact, i started a new file on my 360 and ive almost got it completed again. its great, BUT its not CIA type kallinatech type missions. those were the best. outdoor is kewl, but its not cool. i really hope SC5 is the TRUE sequel to SC1. i wanna break into the god damn CIA and i want some mission impossible type sheit! plz believe it

I agree partially but Shangai is a much better developer than they were then. This game is taking the series in an important new direction.

Splinter cell 2 was the best one, the maps of chaos theory was rushed and messy
(it was only put on at last minute due to fans going mad when the team said it will only have Co/Op)
the devs who made 2 need a medal for that was fantastic and my hopes are high this one

Better have the support number on speed dial then, because it's gonna have LOADS of problems!

Wha? I have a launch 360 and have NEVER had a problem. Just because a few vocal people have had problems doesn't make the 360 a piece of crap like the PS2 was.
