I wasn't too impressed with the visuals either, they're extremely jaggy and the texturing is poor, not so noticable when you're running but very much so when you stand and look around like during the opening tutorial. It looks very PS2-ish at times. There was even some screen tearing. The character models are also poorly animated but since you're supposed to avoid them it's not a big issue. The opening anime intro was terrible too. It's not often the cinematics look *worse* than the ingame visuals! :O
The general consensus from the various forums I've been on seems to be that this is a good game so it is obviously just not for me. I'm actually disappointed that I didn't "get it" to be honest. I'll try the 360 demo later on though before I dismiss it completely. It was never on my list to buy this year anyway but I was interested in it. Ah well... :(
And as for the textures mentioned before: there are textures? I mean, a lot of what I've seen in terms of the enviroment was either a solid color, or just a really flat texture. Their supposed to be simple. So not having great textures, even if its true, shouldn't be too much of an issue. But I'll see when I play I guess.
At least I can play with the new dashboard ^^ and the install function is super b.
played on xbox360.
The big deal breaker for me though is that I found the game more frustrating than fun sadly because it relies heavily on trial and error and as such I never once felt involved with the game. It just never "clicked". I'd happily watch someone play it who knows what they're doing though - it looks awesome in the trailers and videos - but I have little desire to actually play it. Sorry!
The two weeks to release are going to be long.
Xbox 360 has less aliaising, but the picture is more blured, colours are not as vivid , the whole picture looks more washed out and the framerate is not as smooth, there are also some drops in the framerate while PS3 has non of them, but PS3 is the lead platform afterall.
This would have been a great third person game, like Assassins Creed.
Then there was the lack of control re-config. (yes i know there is a re-config option but it sucks, as it basicly just swaps two sets of buttons)
Why is it that when a new game comes out, game designers have a desperat need to move basic-move buttons such at jump or shoot.
The demo actually convinced me not to get the full game.
Too bad, it looked so promising.
I still kinda wish there was a third person OPTION, but I still had tons of fun playing it, day one purchase for me.

only thing I hope is it wont turn out too repetitive but otherwise looks great .
In general the game is great!
Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGoculWD9_A
played it 3 times in a row!!
graphics are top notch (amazing light!!!), art style gorgeous, great music and sound editing...top top top!
now, if only this manages to have a cool story, and not get repetitive, i have my game of the year!
I initially found the control set up alittle strange..but once you get used to it it all seems to fit and flow nicely.
As for the gameplay itself...well, its a great racing/platform game...i'm just still not sold on the combat yet. And though you can pull off some nice flashy moves to disarm enemys the AI on a whole seems pretty weak. Aiming also feels abit awkward..which is strange considering Dice's last game was battlefield.
I was playing the 360 demo and it looked great..no jaggies, no pop in, no slowdown, and no screen tearing (something i was expecting to see alot of)
